Excellent place. We’ve been coming to Zanzibar for 8 years and have stayed in many top properties. For a family trip, this is easily our #1. The place is beautiful and very well maintained, with a kid-friendly pool and modern, practical villas. Highly recommended. Aliya, the manager, is outstanding—dynamic, attentive, and truly on top of everything. A real asset to the property.

What a superb experience! The hosts are simply exceptional – very friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to make sure you have a good stay. They will help you with suggestions and arrange your trips or transportation. They will also give you advise on exchange of money or buying a SIM card. As you might have guessed they or course also has an extremely friendly and helpful staff. Staying at the Paradise Beath Hotel made you feel part of a family. I don’t recall any hotel where I felt more welcome that this. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you are considering this hotel I will quote the famous slogan – “Just do it”.

Amazing stay! The hotel is just a few steps from the beach — the location couldn’t be better. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and beautifully designed, with a calm and cozy atmosphere. Our family had a wonderful holiday at the hotel. The staff was always in touch and responded to any request immediately. Khamis Ali was extremely kind and really helped us out on our last day. We forgot our camera at the hotel and remembered it only when we arrived at the airport. Khamis did the impossible - he sent a driver with a camera in a short time and 5 minutes before boarding closed, he arrived and handed over our forgotten things. We are very grateful to him. It is not every day that you meet such responsive people. We recommend everyone to stay for a holiday at wonderful hotel The Sand Beach resort.

Amazing authentic african ‘hotel’ with super atmosphere! The owner says himself it’s not a hotel, but a home. And it’s easy to see why. This place is a warm community with great facilities and nature hand in hand. The atmosphere and the staff make sure you feel at home and they’ll help you with whatever you would need. Me and my friends had a wonderful time in this beatiful home and we hope to return sometime soon! Recommend

Just up the beach from Paje town, a little quieter but thats what was nice. Wandered to different restaurants along the beach for lunch and dinner. Limited during off season but enough open. We came via Dar Es Salaam airport and ferry. If you can't get an e-visa before arrival, plan 2hrs to exit the airport. We missed our booked ferry and had to pay again for the last ferry on a different company. Used Zanzibar Quest to book the ferry and transport with exemplary service and support via whatsapp and email. The new travel insurance requirement $50p/p on top of the $50p/p visa fee is a scam that mars the experience. The amount of times we had to show our passport and visa / travel insurance was reminiscent of the cold war. Inefficient and overboard. So if you can fly direct to Zanzibar and use e-visa or have patience and a loose schedule. The drive to the Page beach area took about 1 ½ hrs with the first ⅓ taking ¾ of the time with a typical african road experience. Get a good driver. Driving licenses are issued by testing payment of fee. The driver booked by Zanzibar Quest was excellent. Great beach, wind was consistent during the afternoon to either kite or cool down. Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent. Not a fan of the immigration process or the fees.

We stayed at Hoom, in Dongwe, north of Bwejuu.

We stayed at Hoom, in Dongwe, north of Bwejuu. We did not actaully see the village of Bwejuu at all. The main road runs behind the beach from Jambiani to Dongwe and continues up north to Pingwe. You can travel by taxi (expensive - need to negotiate) tuk-tuk (less expensive, negotiate extensively) or daladala (cheap, you need to adapt). There are resorts and hotels along the beach, and right behind it, and also very poor villages. People burn waste in the evenings, including plastics. Zanzibar smells of nice spices, but also burnt plastics. Disposable plastic bags are banned in Tanzania, thank goodness, but plastic bottles are everywhere. We loved the beach in Dongwe because it's less commercial and has lots of natural shade. It also has some nice hotels and restaurants.

I really like the way Bwejuu is within reach to most scenic...

I really like the way Bwejuu is within reach to most scenic places. For example, I managed to reach places such as the Blue Safari, Stone Town, Kizimbani, and others, with ease. The people are very hospitable and ready to assist tourists at any time. May it is important to choose the right season to visit because I found the month of December very hot. However, the ocean compensate for the hot temperatures.

Outside of one of the most beautiful ocean and beaches we have seen, Bwejuu is a rather small village without much to expect from. However, Paje is only a few minutes away and has all the services you may be looking for.

Bwejuu is a small village with only a few hotels and limited...

Bwejuu is a small village with only a few hotels and limited restaurant options, but the hotels' restaurants are high quality so we didn't really mind. Paje has more options, but is also busier. Bwejuu is perfect for an intimate and relaxing getaway holiday away from the hustle and bustle.

The hotel was so close to the beach. The staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. After knowing about my upcoming birthday, I came back to a set up dinner by the beach and cake. That was a very thoughtful gesture to say the least. They were flexible with meals and times, which was quite convenient given different activities for different days. Overall, I would go back again and again and recommend the place to friends

Very luxurious resort with full service and great food. Lovely band playing at the dinner and coffe at the beach every afternoon. We made a misstake in the booking and the hotel handled it in a very professional way. Above all - Ali took care of us like royals.
