Kind and helpful staff with a very cool front desk clerk who speaks English. Our vegetarian family arrived very late but the chefs and waiters waited for us,made us feel very welcome and created a tonne of local delicious vegetarian food for us. The hot pool grotto on the 5th floor is epic. We loved the retro vibe and the view from our room was amazing. Being there in plum season would would be cool.

Stayed the night before ascending Jade Mountain (玉山). We reached fairly late and waited quite awhile for the staff to come because they had assumed we weren't coming- phone numbers given weren't reachable and we had to look around various parts of the property. Otherwise the room itself was really comfortable and the rest of the stay was great.

Alishan Hotel is located in the Alishan Recreation Nature Reserve where walking trails are right at your doorstep. Shuttle buses were available every 30min to the Alishan Visitor Centre where there are some shops and food places. Hotel room was large, airy and clean. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Amenities provided were of high quality. Water pressure from shower is strong with hot water on demand, and heater in the room was welcome in December when the weather was cold. Staff at the hotel reception, shuttle bus, restaurant and room cleaning staff were all polite and proactively thinking of their guests. The 7th floor deck’s views of sunset was surreal. My family and I truly had a fabulous stay and we would return to Alishan Hotel again.

Dafong Hotel is just a 10-minute walk from Alishan Railway Station, where restaurants serving traditional Taiwanese delights reside. It also offers free WiFi access and private parking.

Great place to enjoy Alishan and the sunrise. The room was small but have enough space to make it comfortable. Bed was super comfortable and the staff help you with information. They also picked me up and dropped me off at the station as needed.
