Nikki was the most incredible host, she truly is amazing. You have the 2 bed property to yourself up on the hill with stunning views of the sea and surrounding area. Nikki lives a few door up and you can go there for a great breakfast, she sends you links by phone of restaurants, car parks at tourist sights and will assist you any way she can. The property is up on the hill as said so involves a few winding roads but without going up hill you won't get the views, also parking is around 100 mtrs from the property but this is flat and an easy walk. A gem of a find and a gem of a host .

The man who checked us in was very pleasant and friendly! We didn't know each other's languages but he made every effort to explain things and give local recommendations. The rooms were really clean, spacious, great water pressure. It was a great location too, being only a 5 minutes walk to the Jiufen Old Street and has a very scenic view of the mountains and coast. We were also very happy we could park in front of the hotel.

I really enjoyed just escaping Tapei for a few days and...

I really enjoyed just escaping Tapei for a few days and basking in the nature, even if one day was just storms and rain. There was some vegan options at Old Street and at the hotel, and the view across the water was incredible. If you have any physical issues, keep in mind there are a lot of steep steps, hills and cobblestone pathways that may limit accessibility.

Tourist trap.

Tourist trap. Beautiful for photos (if you're ok with hundreds of people in the background) but everything else was bad -- soooo overcrowded. The food was bad (except for pineapple cakes) and everything was only open during the peak of the day - around 10-7, so forget about breakfast or a late dinner. If you insist on seeing it then I think a day trip would suffice, sadly staying the night was not at all beneficial because once the day tourists leave on their tour busses, the whole place shuts down with metal doors on all the shops in the street so doesn't even make for a good photo.

A tip to other guests: you can take a taxi from the train...

A tip to other guests: you can take a taxi from the train station directly to this hotel and cost 270NTB, instead of spending many minutes climbing the stairs and getting lost like I did. I didn't know earlier and wasted a lot of time. But on my way down the host called a taxi for me, saved me the pain of carrying a suitcase down. Remember to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, and bring a bath towel if you are used to the hotels in Taipei.

Jiufen, specifically the Old Street area, is no doubt a...

Jiufen, specifically the Old Street area, is no doubt a touristy area. My husband and I had a lot of fun trying the different food and snacks and walking through Old Street and seeing all the lanterns lit up. The morning mist added a little magic to the place. We opted to stay overnight so we can enjoy the village after the tour groups have left during the evening and before they arrived in the morning. Would recommend anyone to do the same. You get to see the charm of Old Street and the village when the crowds are gone. The view of the mountains and sea from the village was breathtaking. It was a great way to slow down after spending time in Taipei.

I went to visit the mining sights and its related history. I enjoyed the scenic views. As a photography enthusiast I took a lot of average photos as I am not a good photographer. But I like to take a lot photos. Old Jiufen Street was very busy with many tourists and a lot of things to buy and eat. I like walking through the neighborhoods to see how the locals live.

The view was unbeatable. Overlooked the town of jiufen and on a clear day could see all the way to Keelung. Loved the balcony and the tea set that was provided. Place was very clean and air conditioning ran very cold. Also had a dehumidifier. Location was perfect, a couple minute walk from the nearest taxi drop off point. Only 3 minutes down some steps and you're right on the main street. Recommend going in the evening after 7 as that's when most of the tourists are gone but everything is still lit up. Makes for great pictures!

Really enjoyed my stay! The owner was lovely and the rest of the staff were fun to chat with. The location is great for hikers as you can easily get to the nearby towns via bus for the longer mountain walks. Very close to jiufen town as well. The town is very quiet at night, but there is an easy bus to Ruifang where you can get a cheap dinner. Facilities were clean and bathrooms were nice and spacious. I had also booked an additional night accidentally, but the owner was happy to remove it from the fee. Would recommend!

The room is very spacious, very very best view! The staff is very nice and warm, feel so touch when touch down at the hotel although it is raining heavily. Really thumbs up for the hotel, too bad too rush and not able enjoy the environment in the hotel. Definitely i will come back again! Location very easy to find, just a little bit far from JiuFen Old Street, although can climb staircase to reach, but we just opt for the bus and reach there within 2min🤣 when back time we only take the staircase to back hotel

It's a charming hotel at the top of Jiufen Old Street. A magical location worth spending money on. It's just that you have to be really fit to walk up and down the stairs most of the time. Perfect breakfast setting with a gorgeous view and the kindest owner ever.
