Excellent Location. The room is neat and clean which is quite a top priority for us. The bed and pillow are soft & comfy. Actually it exceeded my expectations in every way. The owner & staff are so friendly and helpful. Uncle and Aunt're so kind. You can tell the hotel to call a Taxi for you. No need to walk up there with your belongings which is a little bit tired. The scenery is beautiful. Walk through the steps 5 minutes to the center of Jiufen walking Street. I forgot my ring in the bathroom and they kept it for us before I noticed it. The check-out day, we wanted to go shopping first, so the hotel offered us to leave the luggages with them then when we're back they will call a taxi to the MRT Station for us. We're totally appreciated. Impressive. Top Recommend.

The room was set up beautifully - a lot of thought had gone into the presentation and everything was very new and clean. There was plenty of space in the bathroom, the seat with a view down over the town and to the sea was a perfect spot to sit and admire the view, the beds were very comfortable, the tea provided was very nice, and the wooden details throughout the room and the shared entrance area were beautiful. Much of Jiufen has very narrow streets and stairs that taxis cannot navigate, but this accommodation was very convenient as an taxi can drop you off on the road at the top of the hill less than a minute's walk away.

Perfect loacation and good breakfast! Suggest to join the night tour that you can learn more information for JiuFen. If you like take picture without crowd, the best solution is stay here for some days that you can wake up at 5:00 for sunset/dawn or night view after 10:00pm. Most store and cowd will start work on 10:00am and you already enjoy the view.

Nikki was the most incredible host, she truly is amazing. You have the 2 bed property to yourself up on the hill with stunning views of the sea and surrounding area. Nikki lives a few door up and you can go there for a great breakfast, she sends you links by phone of restaurants, car parks at tourist sights and will assist you any way she can. The property is up on the hill as said so involves a few winding roads but without going up hill you won't get the views, also parking is around 100 mtrs from the property but this is flat and an easy walk. A gem of a find and a gem of a host .

The man who checked us in was very pleasant and friendly! We didn't know each other's languages but he made every effort to explain things and give local recommendations. The rooms were really clean, spacious, great water pressure. It was a great location too, being only a 5 minutes walk to the Jiufen Old Street and has a very scenic view of the mountains and coast. We were also very happy we could park in front of the hotel.

We had an amazing stay. The host was very friendly, and it was in a great location. Within walking distance to Jiufen Old Street. The rooms were clean, and we loved the breakfast. The amenities were excellent as well. We hope to stay here again. Definitely recommend!

Fabulous place. Rather touristy, but the character is great. Very hilly, and steep. Great coffee shops. Old street very crowded but quaint, and touristy. Great treks to be had, but very steep steps. Great local sightseeing. Well worth a visit.

I really enjoyed just escaping Tapei for a few days and...

I really enjoyed just escaping Tapei for a few days and basking in the nature, even if one day was just storms and rain. There was some vegan options at Old Street and at the hotel, and the view across the water was incredible. If you have any physical issues, keep in mind there are a lot of steep steps, hills and cobblestone pathways that may limit accessibility.

Tourist trap.

Tourist trap. Beautiful for photos (if you're ok with hundreds of people in the background) but everything else was bad -- soooo overcrowded. The food was bad (except for pineapple cakes) and everything was only open during the peak of the day - around 10-7, so forget about breakfast or a late dinner. If you insist on seeing it then I think a day trip would suffice, sadly staying the night was not at all beneficial because once the day tourists leave on their tour busses, the whole place shuts down with metal doors on all the shops in the street so doesn't even make for a good photo.

A tip to other guests: you can take a taxi from the train...

A tip to other guests: you can take a taxi from the train station directly to this hotel and cost 270NTB, instead of spending many minutes climbing the stairs and getting lost like I did. I didn't know earlier and wasted a lot of time. But on my way down the host called a taxi for me, saved me the pain of carrying a suitcase down. Remember to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, and bring a bath towel if you are used to the hotels in Taipei.

Jiufen, specifically the Old Street area, is no doubt a...

Jiufen, specifically the Old Street area, is no doubt a touristy area. My husband and I had a lot of fun trying the different food and snacks and walking through Old Street and seeing all the lanterns lit up. The morning mist added a little magic to the place. We opted to stay overnight so we can enjoy the village after the tour groups have left during the evening and before they arrived in the morning. Would recommend anyone to do the same. You get to see the charm of Old Street and the village when the crowds are gone. The view of the mountains and sea from the village was breathtaking. It was a great way to slow down after spending time in Taipei.

I went to visit the mining sights and its related history.

I went to visit the mining sights and its related history. I enjoyed the scenic views. As a photography enthusiast I took a lot of average photos as I am not a good photographer. But I like to take a lot photos. Old Jiufen Street was very busy with many tourists and a lot of things to buy and eat. I like walking through the neighborhoods to see how the locals live.

this was such an AWESOME hospitable stay in Jiufen. the staff really care for you and the room is superbly clean and so comfortable, the hotel gives you everything to be prepared for your stay given you're in Jiufen itself. they gave you lots of water, breakfast in advance, ponchos, etc. fantastic view from our room.. location is at the end of Jiufen old street, superbly convenient to retreat to when you get tired of the crowds. they even have a cocktail bar at the street level. we loved our stay and would 100% recommend this 民宿

Its very near to Jiu Fen Old Street, you can just take the stairs behind the hotel to reach there. But if you are taking public transport (bus) with a big luggage, you might need to take Uber to reach there. If not you gotta carry your luggage all the way up the stairs. The facilities and the room is very new and clean. Its very comfy and they provide a very yummy local breakfast. They also got some public area for people to chill at night. Its really superb.

The rooms were really charming and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We travelled when it was cold, but there were heaters to keep the rooms warm, and the beds were comfy and shower very powerful and hot water! They gave us fresh dry towels every day. The location was great, nearby the bus stop where you can get to Jiufen by bus in 10 minutes, and the rooms overlooked a mountain.
