A lovely cozy little hotel in the back of the Ephesus Museum, minutes’ walk from everything in this town (except Ephesus itself, but it’s far from everything). Nice well-designed rooms, great cafe. Hospitable hosts. Well, simply everything was very, very good.

Brilliantly comfortable rooms with every possible need catered for. Spotlessly clean, ample parking. The staff were amongst the nicest I have come across and the breakfast would put the very top hotels to shame. I couldn’t fault a thing they were as perfect as you could get. ❤️❤️

The hotel was amazing. The Host is very kind and friendly, available to give us directions and advice, such as where to dine (really good suggestion!). The room was spacious and characteristic, very Turkish style hotel. No parking problems. The hotel is located in an area with many restaurants, bars and other facilities. Breakfast is with fixed dish (no possibility to choose from a buffet) with bread, olive, cheeses (yummy!), eggs as you want... so we didn' starve! :-) recommend

We loved everything about this boutique hotel! Both the room and bathroom were tastefully decorated, spacious, immaculately clean , with a huge comfy bed and lovely outlook. The courtyard is so tranquil , with soft music playing everyday. Was lovely in the afternoon with a glass of wine and a plate with olives , cheeses, crackers and bread that was available. The breakfast each morning was delicious and there was always a freshly baked cake to help yourself to during the day, along with Turkish tea and coffee etc The owner is (as are all the staff) so incredibly friendly and welcoming , without being at all intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble and he was so helpful in organising a superb guide for us with only one days notice.

Everything was the best in the hotel. We were upgraded to Livia Garden Hotel, which was very grateful. The two owners are handsome and very very hospitable. They seemed to worry they couldn’t give us more. The rooms are very stylish and cosy. The garden is well-maintained and beautiful. Although we didn’t use the swimming pool, it just looked very inviting. Last but not the least, the breakfast is too good to be true. It was served by the pool, which was very enjoyable. It was my first time eating traditional Turkish breakfast and I am totally amazed at the wonderful taste and quality. You must come to experience this hotel yourself. You won’t regret it.

This is where to stay if visiting Ephesus!!

This is where to stay if visiting Ephesus!! But lots more in the area. Allow a day for the castle , a day for village(/s), a day for Ephesus. Unfortunately the Ephesus entry now includes what was once a 15 Euro charge for the "Ephesus Experience". So price up from 25 to 40. Sadly the "Experience" seemed inappropriate- high tech visuals to show storm waves somehow closing off the harbour (it gradually silted up over the centuries... ). Giant Mark Anthony and Cleopatra on separate chariots in the main street... interesting computer graphics, but not something I would voluntarily pay for. And I don't really buy the idea that the Godess Artemis is really watching over the town to this very day. Selcuk doesn't need this.

Selçuk is a pleasant and welcoming small town with a surprising number of historic gems. It’s easy to explore, offers plenty of places to eat, and many locals speak enough English to make ordering food or shopping very comfortable. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the town feels like a natural gateway into the ancient world of Ephesus. As a solo female traveler, however, I did experience a few moments that made me feel uncomfortable. During an evening walk, I was stared at in a way that felt overly intense, and in some cases men called after me with “Madam.” While nothing threatening happened, this kind of behavior can make a woman feel uneasy, especially when traveling alone. It would be wonderful if the city could consider a small awareness campaign about respectful behavior toward tourists from different cultures. Selçuk has so much beauty and charm to offer — a bit of cultural sensitivity would make it an even more exceptional destination for everyone.

Selcuk is a small town. Truly a local experience.

Selcuk is a small town. Truly a local experience. Not touristy at all. Accommodation options are sparse. But the location is very convenience to Ephesus and Sirince Village and saves over an hour going to Pamukkale (instead of from Izmir). It is also a short, convenient 1.5 hr train ride to Izmir.

The place was great as the location was close to everything...

The place was great as the location was close to everything like going to Ephesus, The Basillica of John, restaurants, the House of Virgin Mary, etc. The place also felt safe walking around at night. Transport was easily accessible as well. Overall, Selcuk is great tourist place.

Very nice and pleasant town for a visit to Ephesus and other interesting places like the cathedral of St. John and the Isa Bey Mosque. There are also very good Turkish food restaurants like Selcuk Koftecisi.

Our driver Mustafá was very kind.

Our driver Mustafá was very kind. He drove us around all the sights including Ephesus Ruins, St John Basilica, Virgin Mary’s House and Artemis Monument, all in one day. Only down side is we had to pay cash since they don’t accept credit card. One needs a form of transportation since it is not walking distance. Be prepared in the heat with umbrella, hat, sunscreen, handheld fan and water.

We stayed at Hotel Nazar for 5 days and it was the best decision we made for our trip to Selçuk. Ilker and his family were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. They helped us plan our visit to Ephesus and other local monuments, and even recommended the best places to eat. The hotel is well located at a walkable distance to all services, restaurants and many manuments, the room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the shower had good pressure and hot water, and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended!

The perfect place to base yourself to explore from. Breakfast alone is worth the stay - a variety of traditional hot and cold savoury items. Definitely the best breakfast we had whilst in Turkey. The room itself is spacious, tidy and very clean. Çosku was an incredible hostess who gave us detailed and accurate advice on sightseeing and restaurants which meant we got to experience everything Selçuk and surrounds had to offer in a relaxed way. Will definitely make the effort to come back next time we're in Turkey

We loved our stay at the in Ephesus Hotel. The host was so kind and responsive. She anticipated our every need and more. The hotel is quietly elegant and peaceful with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The breakfast was a highlight of our trip to Turkey. We were able to walk 200 metres from our door to explore St. John Bascilica. Quality dinner options are a short stroll away. We wholeheartedly recommend staying at the in Ephesus Hotel and Art Gallery.

This is a great little hotel with incredibly friendly and helpful owners. Probably the best shower I've had in Turkey so far(excellent water pressure), nice roof terrace to enjoy breakfast as well as drinks in the evening. It's a delightful old Ottoman-era building covered in vines, with nice views over Selcuk town and towards the castle. They even let me do my laundry :) I would definitely stay here again.

For my wife and I this hotel was perfect. The owners and staff were incredibly obliging. Most importantly the bed was very comfortable, not something you find often in Turkey. The breakfast was really good which you had sat in a very private, shaded courtyard, very chilled atmosphere. Location could not have been better for visiting all the sites around Selcuk, most of which are within walking distance.
