The best breakfast spread in Turkey. I was surprised to see the amount of options and throughout my 13 hotels and 14 days in Turkey, Grand Catalkaya has the best breakfast spread! Nice hotel, warm and clean sheets, there's a window, quiet area, just the elevator was a bit small for 2x adults with 4x gigantic luggage but other than that, everything was great!

Erzurum is a place for ski-holiday in Palandoken. The hotel is a 10 minute drive from the ski resort, which is perfect. Erzurum is a very traditional city in the far east of Turkey. There are really extremely nice and friendly people there. The atmosphere is very friendly and gentle.

A city with very many friendly and helpful persons whatever you do, and I felt safe all the time. I stayed only overnight twice in a week, but I will always remember how nice it was meeting other people in Erzerum as well as people on buses and trains. Yes, this goes for people in Turkey as well, way over my expectations

There isn't a lot of the old town and castle left, but what...

There isn't a lot of the old town and castle left, but what is there is worth a visit if you are going for the winter sports or for a walk in the mountains. Or even if you are there for work. The local kebabs are excellent and there are plenty of good restaurants in the town. Taxis are plentiful, I didn't see much in terms of public transport.

Interesting town, with major sights all located within short walking distance of each other. A lot of cafés serving tea and snacks, but not many restaurants offering a good selection of dishes and especially difficult to find meat-free dishes. We did have one meal in a fascinating restaurant - Erzurum Evleri - located in a labyrinth of old houses and crammed with all sorts of antiques and paraphernalia associated with life in the old town. A bit like eating in a museum, but the food was good and it was an enjoyable and interesting experience.

A small city on the edge of Armenian highlands.

A small city on the edge of Armenian highlands. Lots of mosques, couple of local history museums. Friendly people, low prices, very shallow snow cover. Got some architecture, cultural, hiking, shopping, gastronomic gems here.

Very friendly and helpful staff. They helped us with bags, and with organising getting our laundry washed for a decent price. The room was comfy and wifi worked fine. Location is central and near to stores and restaurants, as well as the main road where you can catch the buses to the central bus station. The hotel feels clean and modern. The breakfast was simple but ok with turkish basics like tea, hardboiled eggs, cheeses, cucumber, and jams.

Had a brilliant time in the hotel. Fantastic location, mid-mountain. Ski-in/ski-out. Great food and fun late-night bar. I’ll certainly be back soon. Başak and all hotel staff were extremely kind and helpful.
