The hotel is a real oasi in the desert: the building is huge, with a great pool and our room had a balcony. Everyone from the staff was kind and helpful: we had the chance to book a tour with the camel in the desert directly from the reception (for a very reasonable price, 15€). Breakfast and dinner were included: dinner was not exceptional, but you have a lot of choice (there’s even a guy who makes pizza). Breakfast was great, especially the crepes. Everything was really clean, they change towels and make the bed everyday. Very good value for money.

The place seems wonderful to me; it is truly in the desert. I didn't have high expectations for this place and I was greatly surprised. It is a place that has little, but many details if you really observe. The room I stayed in had everything, it was clean, and it had great decoration. Mohamed (I’m not sure if I’m spelling his name correctly) was excellent, he helped us with some activities in the desert, and he is a very friendly person. Additionally, there are two ducks and a rooster that brightened my visit. The breakfast was simple.

They whole camp was welcoming. They treated us like family. The home made break baked in sand was the best bread I had in my life. The surrounding desert is magical. Everyone should sleep at least once in their life under those stars. The view was astonishing as if I saw the sky for the first time. We hope to return soon.

The owners of the structure are kind and helpful. In addition to the stay, I recommend the experiences they propose. The typical dinner is an incredible experience and the walk in the desert with the camels guided by Abdallah was magical. The structure is suggestive and well cared for. It was a real pleasure.

Douz is a fascinating and authentic small town at the edge of the Sahara. Market day on Thursdays transforms the town into a vibrant hub, bustling with locals and tourists alike. Insider tip: Head to the animal stock market early in the morning (around 6–7 AM) to witness traditional trading in action — complete with lively negotiations over sheep, goats, and camels. A true local experience!

The owners could not of done more to make our stay absolutory great ,form meeting us in the main road of Douz at 6pm at night and showing us the way to the property to suppling every thing we needed for a great stay... It was a very last minute dissension to go to the international festival of the Sahara and finding this incredibly CLEAN ,WELCOMING great place was a real bonus and made our time in Douz a time to remember....All thanks to Akram and is wonderful partner.

The owner of this place was the nicest most accommodating host in Tunisia. He quickly and easily helped us organise a camel tour in Douz at an amazing price. Breakfast was fresh and delicious too. The location is great, about a 10-15 minute walk from the town center. The owner also recommended a great restaurant in town. The room was simple and had everything we needed for a short stay. Internet standard for Tunisia.

We (a family with 2 kids at the age of 6 months / 4 years) had a wonderful stay at The Residence Douz. Amazing rooms, attentive and super child friendly staff. Breakfast was great and we felt very welcome in a positive environment, right next to the Sahara desert. The spa area is great. My best hotel experience in Tunisia so far, we even extended our stay. Thank you!
