We stayed while on a motorbike tour of northern Thailand. The staff were above and beyond. We were greeted by the management team who were friendly and very personable. They bought us a drink later that evening and introduced us to the owner who was also very welcoming. Couldn't have asked for a nicer hotel and it there is nothing even close in the greater area. keep up the good work team and we'll see you again in the future. Highly recommend.

Very clean and comfortable stay. The place is full of green, well looked after and has a huge swimming pool (25m). The owner is very friendly and looked after our well being all the time. On request you get a delicious dinner and breakfast. The hotel is a little outside of town but has a quick access to the Mekong boardwalk and from there it is a beautiful walk along the river. A must do!

The hotel is in a great location; it is away from the town centre and so free of traffic noise. The views from our room were great, looking out over the lawns and the fiends towards the Maekong and Laos beyond. Our room was by far the best we have had in Thailand on this trip, being both spacious, beautifully designed and comfortable. The owner is kind, helpful and knowledgable. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere in the restaurant. It is a motorcyle friendly hotel too. There is safe parking off the road and good advice on trips to take. The Maekong and town are a short walk away 20 - 30 minutes, if you don’t want to drive. Bicycles are available for hire I believe. Strongly recommended. A real highlight of our trip this year.

Chiang Khong,lovely and great place. Very authentic border city. Can enjoy beatiful nature also(mountains and forests.) and can visit mountain villages,have beatiful handcrafts to purchase. Made by village people ,(not mass production or cheap copies) Can not find anywhere else.

A great city to do a border run, particularly if you stay at Fortune Riverview Hotel Chiang Khong - which seems to be the nicest accommodation in the area. We enjoyed our stay here quite a bit and would return.

Chiang Khong, a lovely little town next to the river.

Chiang Khong, a lovely little town next to the river. Views are amazing and the food is good. It is not very big so staying for an extended time may be dull for some. Great for relaxing and quiet. Excellent for walking and/or riding bicycles.

I liked to have riverview.

I liked to have riverview. We had two single beds that we rearranged such that they were mire close to eachother. Not perfect but ok. For one person the bed was too hard, for the other it was good. Was great to be on the (small) balcony to look at the river, but there were no seats. I used the pool, but at the time of the day the two high building on the side avoided all sunshine to warm up the water. We also had to use our own towels from the room, one per person. Checkout was fast without checking the room. Few hours after we left, we were in Chiang Rai already, staff called us that they we left behind a watch. They agreed to send it to our home in Chiang Mai. Great service that we really appreciate.

A lovely little town on the Mekong River near the border...

A lovely little town on the Mekong River near the border with Laos. We arrived late from the Laotian slow boat and stayed overnight. We extended our stay by another night because the place is so nice. Laundry service, Thai SIM card, pharmacy, bus station for onward travel – everything you need.

The guesthouse is opposite a 7-Eleven, and the bus station...

The guesthouse is opposite a 7-Eleven, and the bus station is 700 meters away. There's a swimming pool. The prices are reasonable. The only downside is the rooster in the garden that starts crowing at 3 AM! The staff are friendly!

The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Very nice to chat and they also arranged the boat to Luang Prabang which was an amazing experience. Very much recommended. The hotel is on a very quite nice spot on the water. In town there are mostly Thai tourists which gives it a more calm atmosphere. If you like more hustle and western tourists the Lao side of the border seems better. Was nice to hang around here and relax, could borrow a bike from the hotel to explore the boulevard and some temples. Room was big and nice view from the balcony

Great hotel right on the border with Laos and perfect for an overnight stay before taking bus to Chiang Mai. Great room with plenty of space and comfy bed. Friendly staff who organised lift for us.to bus station when no taxi was available. Food in restaurant was excellent and spirit pours were generous.

Great river view from our balcony. The room was clean and comfortable for the price. The restaurant terrace was a nice place to sit at night. We enjoyed running along the track by the river in the morning. A good stopover hotel.
