Very friendly owners. They accommodated us in a very nicely decorated wooden house in the countryside. They gave us all the important information, prepared a very delicious breakfast and even drove us to the ferry departure point the next day.

We absolutely loved the luxurious nature around and inside the resort. The wooden walkway through mangrove forest to the bay, stright from the resort, was splendid. Great place for birdwatching. We stayed in the low season so the resort was a heaven of tranquility. The staff was very kind and helpful. The food in the restaurant (by the inner lake) was outstanding (the best Thai, spicy salad ever!). Generous breakfast with good buffet and excellent khao tom.

Kaew and Klod were the perfect hosts of these beautiful rooms. We arrived badly injured in need of recuperation and they were so helpful and caring. The rooms are cosy, homely and impeccably decorated. Amazing attention to detail with cleanliness and provisions. This charming property is a sanctuary. We could not recommend this hotel more highly. 10 stars.

We chose this hotel for convenience as it is opposite the Lotus shopping centre that’s good for stocking up on provisions before travelling to the islands. So I gave a 9 for location, as the main reason travellers stop in Trat is in transit. The hotel is near a dusty main road junction. So if you want convenience for the shops, and a swimming pool to wash away the grime of a long haul flight, J P Grand is grand. If you want to enjoy the city for itself, stay in the old part.

Hotel directly in the center of Trat in a spectacular position, central to everything (the walk along the river is 20 meters away, the museum is a 5 minute walk as well as the temples and the Pillar Shrine, the nature reserve is 10 minutes away). Located in an old tek house that looks like a museum, a slice of Thailand that no longer exists. As soon as I booked I received an extremely detailed message with instructions on how to arrive. The owner is extremely kind. I sincerely thank those who wrote the previous reviews recommending the white rooms: true indeed, they are the best! Try to stay in one of those :) There is absolutely everything you need: desk, kettle, fridge, bedside lamps, darkening curtains and mosquito nets, and everything is pleasant, clean and welcoming. Free fruit, snacks, tea and coffee. Rooftop terrace to watch the sunset from and where I saw the New Year's Eve fireworks. I think it is one of the best places to stay in all of Trat, so despite the extremely hard bed (see below) I give it 10 stars.
