That was fabulous experience!!! I cannot understand, that such beautifully located venue is so "modestly" occupied. Anyway Great Fatra is unique to me, and such accommodation experience only boost my love to that mountains... To be more precise, very helpful staff, nice breakfast, location... breakfast with beautiful view, jacuzzi after exhausting hike (track are not technically demanding like in e.g., Tatra, but quite long).

The flat is GREAT. For this price, it has everything I would expect and more - it's pretty, clean, spacey, has a big comfy bed, very well-equipped kitchen, some toys for kids in case someone needs them. It's located very close to a great bakery and a convenience store, and in the general town centre with many cafes around, and there is a free and fairly large parking space just in front of it, and there are many great trails starting just two-three kilometres away. Not to mention that the owners are very helpful. It's amazing, and we hope to return there for sure!

Ružomberok is an old industrial town in northern Slovakia (...

Ružomberok is an old industrial town in northern Slovakia (during communist times is was famous for the foul smell from its industries), and a place you still have to drive through because the expressway avoiding the city has not been opened yet...and during my visit this meant chaos with three hours waiting time because of another road reconstruction work... However, there are great possibilities for skiing close to the city and a pair of museums (but aside of that not too much to attract visitors)... The beer from its first micro-brewery, Ursus, is unfortunately also nothing to write home about.

We were going to ski. The snow was good . We were relatively lucky with the weather. The sloops were short for us but we enjoyed . The apartmant is 100 meters close to the lift. We didn't have time to see the city but nature was amazing.

We were in the "family" type room during the winter period. The hotel and rooms are simple from the old times but nicely refurbished. Everything is clean and in good condition. Staff is helpful, and communication in English is possible. Breakfast is simple but you have everything you need, cold and warm food, vegetables, sweats, juices. Coffee is good. Location is nice, very close to the lake. Parking is easy, close to hotel. Overall this is good value for money type hotel absolutely fine for shorter stays.

I liked the atmosphere and the uniqueness of this hotel. Very cosy and quiet place. The staff was wonderful :) Albeit being couple of kilometres from the center, it was worth a walk. Surprising thing was a really good sauna (I'm a Finn :) )! Breakfast was really good. I was here during the beginning of summer and the weather was great so I don't know what it is like in the winter and during the skiing season. Slopes are close though. Worth the money. I recommend.
