The owner accommodated us with an early check-in. Very nice lady. Also, since she had no guests the next day, she allowed us a later checkout since we were after the wedding. The heated floor in the bathroom was a big plus. Also, the fragrant linens and cleanliness were immediately noticeable.

We had planned our first cycling trip in Slovakia and for our first trip our first stop was to be Ilava. We were extremely fortunate that we ended up choosing Pension Daniel for our first pit stop. Not only was the location ideal ( barely a few kilometres ) as soon as you enter Ilava, Daniel the owner was very kind and hospitable right from the moment we arrived totally exhausted. He helped us park our cycles in a safe spot in the garden. Showed us our room which were spic and span. There were also complimentary toiletries ( thank god for that ! ) , clean beds and sheets with a functional tv with multiple channels. ( some of us need to watch tv before we can sleep ) For Dinner we were recommended a cozy pub nearby which had all the varieties of Pizza that one could ask for. We of course settled for the Pizza that was called “Slovakia “. The morning after was great as well. Breakfast was cooked and served by Daniel himself. With unlimited coffee, juice, and huge serving of Ham and Eggs we were ready to take on what the day had to offer. Before leaving Daniel was kind enough to suggest an alternate route to our next stop helping us avoid gravel paths which resulted in us completing our journey in a timely manner. Can only recommend this place for anyone passing by or thinking of stoping in Illava. Pension Daniel is the place to stay in this city.

This place has a genius loci. It is brand new, has been reconstructed just recently. Clean, very well equipped (washing machine, dryer machine, dishwasher, plates, cups, pans, pots…). It is in short distance from the highway and many interesting sites in the region.

I was cycling through slovakia and it rained all the day. At Lednica I decided at 14:30 to take a room, but the pension closes at 15:00. But the woman at the reception and her chief decided to stay till I arrived. It was so great! Thank you very much for this.

The location is fabulous. The hotel overlooks a ruined medieval fortress and is surrounded by mountains. The views are breathtaking, especially for those who enjoy mountain slopes covered with forests. The apartment we stayed in was spacious, well-decorated, and impeccably clean. The wellness facilities add an extra dimension to the stay and are highly recommended. The service is commendable, especially for such a remote location. It is quite rare to find a place designed and managed to such high standards.
