FAQs about hotels in Singapore

Asia in a Compact Package

Clean, compact and compelling, Singapore seamlessly combines the best of Asia. Different cultures and cuisines live side by side, whilst maintaining their own identity.

Behind the bright lights of Chinatown is great value dim sum, while Little India is a sensation for the senses. Wander past the pastel-painted facades of Malay-dominated Geylang Seari for a taste of days gone by, then stop off at the Colonial-style Raffles Hotel, birthplace of the Singapore Sling cocktail.

For a retreat from the hustle and bustle, take the cable car to the sandy beaches of Sentosa, an island just south of the city centre. Also here is Universal Studios Singapore, a theme park brimming with the magic of the movies.

As you’d expect from the host of the world’s only Formula 1 night race, once night falls, Singapore is still very much alive. Its Night Safari is a zoo offering the rare chance to see nocturnal animals going about their business.

Although small enough to see on foot, Singapore has an efficient public transport system which extends as far as Singapore Changi Airport. With a choice of Singapore accommodation ranging from budget hostels to luxury hotels, Booking.com is bound to have the right choice for your holiday.

Very clean city, great MRT transit system, weather too hot over 30 Celsius in December. Enjoyed the Impressive fine dining at the Ce La Vi with the breathtaking views, excellent food quality and exceptional service. Excellent shopping at the JEWEL in the airport, great Chinese food at the Treasures restaurant, a fun tourist attraction for all ages to spend a day there.

This was my 14th visit to Singapore as I go every December...

This was my 14th visit to Singapore as I go every December to bring Christmas presents for my son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. Singapore is expensive, hot and humid all year round- no winter here, clean, totally safe to walk about 24/7, easy to travel anywhere on the MRT and buses. A perfect example of how people of all races can integrate properly can be seen in Little India and Chinatown (also the cheapest shopping areas are Pagoda Street in Chinatown and Serangoon Road in Little India). The cheapest beer can be found at Albert Court, a short walk from Rochor MRT. 2 Tiger beers for $8 SGD

An 'awsome' city in the true sense of the word.

An 'awsome' city in the true sense of the word. Travelling around the city is efficient and cheap. People are helpful and friendly. We never felt threatened or unsafe. An incredibly clean city. Singapore is a relitively high income city so you don't find the shopping bargains that you might in some other Asian cities, but I wouldn't call it expensive.

There is so much to see & do in Singapore, 10 days wasn't enough, especially if you want to do all of the Mandai parks. If you want to do the parks, go early if possible as it tends to rain/storm more in the afternoons. We didn't do half of the things we wanted to as we ran out of time. We mainly used the MRT, which is amazing & the longest wait for a train was 5 minutes. They all interconnect, so you can pretty much get anywhere using the MRT & it's pretty cheap too. The Hawker Centres are fantastic if you want to eat cheap whilst there. If you eat at restaurants you will need a lot more money as they are expensive. We loved 'Sushiro', which is just outside Singapore Zoo, though they have them in other places too. We also used 'Grab' taxi service which was great. We took some currency with us for the Hawker Centres, but also used a 'Wise' card for the MRT etc. You can convert your currency at a good rate & won't get international transaction fees like you do with many debit cards/credit cards. It's easy to top up & great whilst travelling overseas.

As well as being a lovely holiday destination in itself,...

As well as being a lovely holiday destination in itself, Singapore is a great stepping stone for travel to the rest of south east Asia. It’s very clean, safe and quite westernised, with a touch of the wildness of much of the rest of Asia. Food is fab especially in hawker stalls, plenty of sightseeing, enough to keep you occupied for as long as you are there! Public transport is so easy, just use your credit card. Gardens by the Bay is amazing 🤩

We found the city very easy to get around, the food amazing and the diversity impressive. There were many interesting cultural sites, great running trails, beautiful green spaces and every modern amenity of a big city. It was not overwhelming, or loud, everything was clean and in good working order. There's beautiful architecture, both historic and modern and we also took day trips to Malaysia and to Indonesia. Both are easy to get to by mass transit or ferry. We were afraid things would be expensive but in fact, we were easily able to eat terrific food, seaside, get around the city and enjoy ourselves at reasonable prices. I particularly liked the Botanical gardens, the National Gallery and the amazing hawker centers which dot the city.
