Stayed for a weekend Fri-Sun and I think that was a long enough time to do everything we had planned. Went to Aifur Viking restaurant one evening which was incredible and would highly recommend! We also went to Restaurant C&C in the old town and the Swedish meatballs are perfection! The city is very walkable but we used the electric scooters a lot as they are everywhere and there are so many bike lanes. The prices of everything are quite high but I understand that the wages are also higher. Would also recommend Mammut bar for drinks, underground gothic bar in the old town with amazing atmosphere.

Stockholm is a beautiful city.
Stockholm is a beautiful city. Staying just outside The Old Town was perfect - SoFo - is a lovely bohemian area with very few tourists. Walking is easy but also the public transport system (including ferries) is superb.
Just walking the streets of The Old Town is a delight, But also recommend some island hopping. Skansen, The Museum of Modern Art and Stampen jazz club were particular favourites.
And a lovely bistro hidden amongst the web of cobbled streets in the Old Town is Under Kastanjen.

Absolutely lovely and beautiful city!
Absolutely lovely and beautiful city! Stayed a bit further away from the centre, but getting around Stockholm is incredibly easy! You can use the SL app to buy tickets or just pay as you go (there are cards machine at the entry of all metro stations as well as the trams and buses). The city centre is gorgeous, however it can be a bit crowded since there are my avenues and shops around. Eating wise, please try all the kardemommeboller you possibly can because they are delicious (my recommendations are Stora Bageriet and Lillebrors). Don't hesitate to take a boat tour to see the city from the water, you won't regret it! 🤎 Great city for shopping but also with beautiful nature areas such as parks, gardens and the archipelago!

Beautiful city but don't underestimate its size or how far...
Beautiful city but don't underestimate its size or how far it is to walk between places of interest. We discovered their superb transport system and used that after our first day walking everywhere to get to places we had booked.
In three and a half days we visited: Vasa Museum (amazing), Abba (don't be embarrassed to sing - we weren't), Avicii experience (more singing), Sprit museum (Swedish tasting tray was definitely something we wont forget!) Ice Bar, Gamla Stan and the Under the Bridges boat tour. There was so much more we could have seen including visiting the Royal Palace and Skansen (next time perhaps). People are friendly and helpful but don't take too much cash (like we did) as most places in Stockholm were cashless and only accepted card payments.
Food was an issue, we should have researched more as reasonably priced eateries that were open in April were hard to find.
Great hotel with easy access to city center. Mattress and pillows were some of the most comfortable I've had in a hotel.
Great lounge for a coffee and an intense work session or simply reading a book. Pretty big deli with wonderful breakfast, even for vegetarians like us.
Rooms were very quiet and cozy, will definitely come back next time when visiting Stockholm.
PS. Hotel rooms don't have any windows because they're at -1. Wasn't a problem for us, but just so you know in case it's a show stopper for you.
Breakfast was very Swedish and tasty. Breads were often warm, Filmjolk was plentiful as were various Swedish jams, cheese. I did not try the British breakfast. Coffee was the best, hot on every table. Also the coffee machines worked perfectly for a cappuccino. Hotel is right outside the Central Train Station, so didn't even need a taxi. Located walking distance to Gamla Stan, The boats to Drottningholm, Stadtshuset is a quick walk and a beautiful waterfront place to relax.
The Hotel Rival is a very fun hotel in an excellent part of Stockholm. very close to the metro line but easy to walk into the old part of town as well, and is very close to great restaurants and nightlife. The hotel itself has great sized rooms well decorated, and even though there is a theatre connected to the hotel you couldn't hear it at all! The bar was fantastic for a late night drink, and the breakfast options were some of the best I've ever had
To us it was the best choice of hotel for visiting Stockholm for the first time.
Very family friendly hotel, very nice staff, great breakfast with lots of dairy free alternatives.
Loved the spa which is a great addition to the location and to every other facility this hotel offers.
We'll definitely come back to stay at Clarion Sign Hotel in Stockholm.
Many thanks to all the staff, wish you all guys a very Happy New Year!
The rooms were spacious & clean. The hotel staff at the reception during check in & check out were kind enough & accommodative with our requests. There were a lot of options for the breakfast & most importantly kids liked the time spent in the hotel. The hotel staff be it at the breakfast or the room service were very helpful. A perfect place to stay in Stockholm close to City Center.
the location of the hotel is very good. it's very close to the central subway station which allows you to go wherever you want in stockholm. also, it's quite close to the city center by walking.
the bedroom and the bathroom are quite clean.
the staff were sincere and very helpful.
the breakfast was really good. you can start your day with good quality food.
The question would be "What did I not like about this hotel"? Well, nothing - I loved this hotel!
So convenient, comfortable, cozy with a great bar - amazing service by Ronaldo and his team.
Kudos guys, we left this hotel with the best experiences, and even though me and colleagues travelled for work, we really managed to relax and enjoy Stockholm moments.
Even though the hotel is located a bit further away from Gamla Stan and Skansen the walk to reach those destinations, be it along the channel or through Vasastadten and Norrmalm, is a real treat. The hotel is super clean and it has one of the best breakfast offers I have seen so far, from Miso to pancakes. Great choice when staying in Stockholm.
If you want to spend your day at Tivoli, spend time and Skanssen or go see the Vasa Ship and Viking museum, it's hard not to recommend this hotel. It's perfectly located at the Djurgarden in center of the best family locations in Stockholm. The rooms itself are a bit outdated, but still comfy and clean and has a good restaurant downstairs.
Close proximity to the Stockholm City train station, grocery stores and pharmacy near the hotel, quiet area. Friendly staff and free breakfast where you cat choose a lot of tasty food and drinks. Many thanks to Pura for the delicious food for breakfast and the hospitality of the guests! Best wishes for this experienced employee!
Contemporary, modern hotel, great breakfast and rooms. Absolutely loved the industrial look and feel, easy check-in/out, facilities and overall wonderful experience in the proximity (30’ walk) from the old city (Gamla Stan). Public transportation in close proximity, making this a great value for money option in Stockholm.
A unique hotel! Magnetic Stockholm! Everything was perfect! Our rooms were spotless and the view unique! The location is the best possible. The rooms were cozy and had everything we needed...everything from toothbrush and coffee to small binoculars and an ironing board. We plan to return soon! It was so nice
Excellent hotel in a brilliant location. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast next door at Tak was the best I've had at a hotel. Already thinking about visiting Stockholm again and will 100% be staying here
Fantastic, friendly, cozy yet very efficient and well managed hotel for the discerning traveller. The location is best possibe for Stockholm city. There was nothing staff could not do for me to accommodate my wishes and requirements. I will be back!
The best thing about this hotel is location. It’s 2 minutes walk from Arlanda airport express. There is even an elevator from the train platform up to the street where the hotel entrance is, which I did not immediately realize
the gentleman who checked us in was exceptional. He checked us out as well. 5 stars each time. His service was that of the ritz carlton or a hotel that would be much pricier. thanks again!
The hotel is really grand as the name suggests. You fee like you are one of the Royal Palace’s apartments and feel important. All the staff were professional and 5 star service.
