We spent 3 nights in this very comfortable and spacious apartment. Well equipped kitchen and great to have washing machine and dryer. Wi-Fi connection, much appreciated. Beautiful location next to the river, calm and relaxing. Would definitely recommend this apartment.

Skellefteå is a town with an intriguing history.

Skellefteå is a town with an intriguing history. A pretty town on the banks of a large river. The view across the river of the beautiful main church has been obscured by an ugly multi-story parking garage. Who thought up that damaging action? The town is currently in the grips of street optimization. The narrowing of the main East-West street, is questionable and will soon cause traffic congestion. The station is still in place, but no rail traffic goes there apart from goods !! The infrastructure around the railway and station needs to be optimized and take advantage of the existence of a rail link to the rest of Sweden and the outside World.

I stayed 5 days, mid September, for a conference and had...

I stayed 5 days, mid September, for a conference and had some free time. When it wasn't raining, I enjoyed beautiful walks along the river (4 hour circuit), and I ran to the coast (12 km away), and through forestry roads. Easy returns by public transport as the busses are frequent and accept credit card. I did not need Swedish money at all during my stay. The town museum is a must see, even if small, and you should visit the historical part of town, which is nearby. I confess to only having eaten asian food while in town. I did not identify a restaurant with Swedish food, which I would have liked to try.

The hotel is in the sixth floor of an office building but with nice views of the surrounding town. It’s about as central as you can get overlooking the town square. My single room was a reasonable size and the bed was comfy. The en-suite has a nice hot shower and not too small. Breakfast was adequate with a reasonable choice of food. There is an underground garage handy for a motorcycle. The staff were very helpful.

Hotel staff was polite and trying to provide all the information about services offered by the hotel. I didn't use but there was free coffee, microwave and cluttery for those who buy food from outside. Breakfast in the morning was reach and at the first floor there's a restaurant with very good service and food. Location is excellent.
