Marlene and David are the best hosts we have ever met! They are both very kind and we felt here like at home. You are in their garden, but you have your privacy. They even left there for us some fruits, bread, eggs and milk and David bring us fried jackfruit one day in the afternoon which was super tasty. All in all a lot of small things which makes our 3 nights here very special. This is great choice for a couple. Car is recommended. The nearest supermarket is actually very close same as good take away.

We had a wonderful stay on Mahé! The apartment is new, very spacious, clean, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The pool was a great bonus — perfect for relaxing after exploring the island. The hosts were incredibly kind, attentive to every detail, and always ready to help. They even provided us with a grill, which we really appreciated. They also arranged our transfer — the driver, Rony, picked us up from the airport and drove us everywhere we needed to go during our stay. He was very friendly, pleasant, and attentive, always on time, and even came to pick us up when we decided to walk somewhere and needed a ride back. Overall, it was a perfect stay — highly recommended!

Variety of shops. Safe. Cultural. Food is expensive. Beautiful lush terrain. Humid. Bus is best way to travel. Reasonable. When you change buses you have to pay fare again (12 rupees). Cabs are expensive. Many pharmacies if required. Locals are friendly, helpful. Bus service good M- F and Sunday. Minimal Saturday. Not much open Sunday.

Victoria was easily accessed, there were many markets and most people spoke English. There are frequent rain showers that lasted a few minutes which is a relief as it is hot and humid most of the time. The restaurants were great but for South Africans it worked out expensive to eat and drink. There were far too many cars on the road and simply no parking available in Victoria. lovely sights and scenery . The roads that lead over the mountain give way to absolutely breath taking views. The local busses and their drivers were a menace on the road but they provided value for money public transport.

Not the type of capitol city many of us are used too. You'll see it all within 2 hours. The tourist offer is pretty slim at best, while any tourist related item prices are very steep. In Seychelles, it's the beaches you'll enjoy, not the city atmosphere.

Victoria is ok, but we spent most of our time renting an apartment (Villa Bella) on the North East point, which was perfect for us. The North East point is far away from any touristy areas, so you'll need a car, which I'd recommend anyways to go to the different beaches, trails, supermarket etc. So stay elsewhere than Victoria is my advice!

If you want to escape from busy, crowded beaches the hotel is the right place. It's surrounded by black granith rocks and a beatiful garden, scanic view. You can forger yourself there. Colonial furniture anf finishes add splendor.
