Ruhondo island retreat was fantastic - both in terms of natural beauty and as a gateway to many local community experiences around lake Ruhondo. Jean was amazing and led us on a hike and community visit - he shared awesome info about the area where he was born. The tents were awesome - with great hot water showers. The food was also excellent, the chef Elias did a great job! I would recommend visiting lake Ruhondo , and the retreat, as an alternative to lake Kivu.

An amazing stay at My Hill! Gervais, Vincent and the team (especially Esther and Solver!) took fantastic care of us from start to finish, helping to organise gorilla trekking permit and transport and even helping with the bus back to Kigali! Always super responsive and nothing was too much trouble, the team made the trip really special. Other highlights include the boat trip across the lake, the delicious big fish, the incredible and giant breakfast every day and the cosy campfire every evening (extra cosy with a hot chocolate!) - and of course, delicious coffee. The location is also incredible, with beautiful views across the lake (we spent hours watching the weather and the eagles) and an easy track for hiking nearby. Plus the rooms are extremely comfortable, and again, with beautiful views. Definitely recommend!!

The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. They always try their best to make us feel comfortable and help to answer all of our questions. The management team is very responsive. They even helped to recommend tour agencies and drivers when we were planning our itineraries. The resort is helping women to get quality job. The resort is very close to the headquarter of Volcanoes National Park, just a 20 minutes drive, so we get to prepare our activities in the Park with ease. The kitchen of the hotel is pretty nice too, as a vegan, they provide me a lot of options.

I liked Fatima Hotel for its great location near Volcanoes National Park, beautiful mountain views, friendly and welcoming staff, comfortable rooms, and delicious breakfast. The amenities like the pools and spa made the stay even more relaxing.

An amazing stay at My Hill!
