Julienne has created a beautiful space in the main house, the gardens and the various bungalows. When we booked we chose Rutete mainly based on proximity to Akagera park, but Rutete is really worth a visit even without visiting the park. If you are visiting the park don't rush off, it's a lovely place to relax and enjoy the food from the garden, and hear the story of how Julienne built the place. She also helped us with getting a guide for the park, and our onward bus journey to Kigali. I would definitely recommend and come back if I am in Rwanda again.

A very calm and peaceful place to relax in harmony with nature. The staff is invaluable — for example, I have leg prosthetics, but everything went perfectly as they arranged food delivery directly to our tent. The food is delicious, and the service is quick. We love the space, its was very comfortable with amazing view. We loved the activities provided such as kayaking. Great location as well. The price is on the higher side but it is justified by the full board services and other free activities. Nice place to networking also esp with the concept of community dinner.
