Huge, very clean flat. Everything was rather new and very modern. The breakfast was very nice with a lot of different choices. City centre only 25min walking distance (or you can take the metro). AC in bedroom and in living room was a big plus. Big balcony for a relaxed morning coffee. Very nice and helpful staff.

FAQs about hotels in Bucharest

Where Modern Meets Old

A fascinating mix of old and new, Bucharest is one of those cities where you can find a futuristic structure of glass and steel next to an old church, separated by a Communist-style massive edifice. Not overwhelmed by its dark past, the city is now turning its optimistic face towards the West.

Undergoing constant modernisation processes, the city continually changes and new modern structures pop up in the city centre and beyond. Great examples are the stunning Basarab Bridge, Europe’s widest cable-stayed bridge, and the City Gate Towers.

Whilst admiring the new, don’t miss out on the old classics, like the Parliament Palace, the world’s second largest building, with over 3100 rooms and impressive marble interiors covering 330,000 m². Make sure you admire the view from Nicolae Ceauşescu's balcony!

To fully appreciate the city’s long history, from Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula) to the ’89 revolution, the city offers free guided walking tours, giving you a great opportunity to discover all the city’s secrets. And spot all the best shopping venues!

Before you land at Bucharest Airport, just 18 km from the city centre, make sure you check what Booking.com has to offer: from hotels to apartments, just a few clicks away!

Bucharest is a beautiful city. I like them vibe of the city.

Bucharest is a beautiful city. I like them vibe of the city. There are lots of coffee shop. The city comes alive at night with people having their coffee during early evenings, sitting outdoors although it’s cold. They have large malls, and also beautiful shops and boutiques all over the city. The one negative I will say is that people are not friendly. they do not say hello nor smile as you pass by them.. If you smile at them, they don’t smile back. They’re not rude. They just don’t acknowledge you. That’s just how they are. I am not used to that when visiting a country.

Bucharest is an amazing, vibrant and surprisingly rich city...

Bucharest is an amazing, vibrant and surprisingly rich city that really impressed me. It combines elegant old architecture with modern life in a way that feels unique and full of energy. The historic centre, with its beautiful buildings, cosy cafés and lively terraces, is perfect for wandering day or night. The city feels big and important but still welcoming. You can see impressive landmarks like the Palace of Parliament, relax in huge green parks, enjoy great restaurants, and experience a very active nightlife. Prices are reasonable, people are friendly, and there is always something happening – concerts, exhibitions, and festivals. Overall, Bucharest is a dynamic European capital with history, culture, business and entertainment all in one place. A truly rich city, and I would happily come back again.

I liked the Orthodox churches.

I liked the Orthodox churches. However, I missed the airport, had to go to another one, and when I quickly found a taxi and told it that I was in a hurry, it was very rude and demanded 50 euros for the 8-minute ride!

Fantastic city with beautiful architecture and history, you...

Fantastic city with beautiful architecture and history, you could easily stay a week and not see it all, there are loads of shops, bars and restaurants which we thought were all reasonably priced. Use bolt (it’s their Uber) where you can it’s cheap. Our 40 min taxi ride from the airport cost £14 ! There are also loads of museums which we didn’t get time to visit, also Europes largest salt mine trip, and Dracula’s castle and the indoor water park. A must see city in our opinion, and if you go in December you get the added bonus of the Christmas markets and they do go to town dressing their shops/hotels up.

Bucharest is a hidden gem that left me absolutely enchanted!

Bucharest is a hidden gem that left me absolutely enchanted! From its stunning architecture blending history and modernity to the vibrant street life, every corner of the city has its own charm. I particularly loved exploring the beautiful parks and the impressive Palace of the Parliament—it’s a must-see! The local cuisine is delightful, with plenty of cozy restaurants offering traditional Romanian dishes that are bursting with flavor. The nightlife is lively, filled with unique bars and clubs that cater to all tastes. I also found the people to be incredibly warm and welcoming, eager to share their culture and recommendations. Whether you’re wandering through the historic Old Town or enjoying a leisurely stroll along the picturesque streets, there’s always something exciting to discover. Bucharest truly exceeded my expectations, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking for a rich cultural experience combined with a modern twist. I can’t wait to visit again!

Very nice hotel. The room was very big and clean. The beds and the sofa were very comfortable. Always hot water. Quiet room. The hotel is 3km far from the city centre but its a nice walk and in half an hour you can reach the old town. Next to the hotel there are many coffee shops and restaurants (noodle bars etc) as well as a super market. The staff are very polite and very helpful. Our stay was very good.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Emma! The rooms are spacious, super clean, and have everything you could possibly need. It’s in a convenient spot too — just a short 10–15 minute walk to public transport, and from there you’re in the city centre in about 20 minutes. A great choice if you’re visiting Bucharest!
