Location - very central for virtually everything.
WiFi, generally fast and efficient, throughout the hotel, including the bedrooms. Advertised on Booking.com as only in the hotel lobby. The hotel should consider altering this detail on its page with Booking.com.
Plenty of hot water. This might seem something to be automatically expected, but it is amazing how many hotels cannot provide a constant supply of hot water.
Breakfast was adequate. Reasonable selection of cold food. The only hot food was toast, but the toasting machine took forever. Nobody appreciated my joke that it would have been quicker to go and hunt down a dragon and get it to breathe fire on my slice of bread.
Most staff tried to resolve problems (if somewhat unsuccessfully), were helpful and generally polite.

Very relaxing week spent in Porto Santo. Close to a wonderful beach, quiet and empty surroundings great for long walks at the beach. Or reading a book in the hammocks. The sunrise from the tent was magical. You could hear the sound of the waves when you fall asleep and as soon as you wake up. This stay is all you need when you want to take it very slow and treat your body and soul. On top you had all the amenities you need such as a fridge, oven, fully equipped kitchen and ice cube machine. Everything was spotless clean at all times and most importantly the staff was helpful, friendly and more than willing to share stories about the island. 100% recommended!

Catavento is a converted former shop or workshop on the main street. The living area, bathroom and kitchen are well and practically furnished. It is not an IKEA showroom, but of good quality and taste. This also applies to the outside area, which is visible from the outside. All information and photos of the landlord correspond to reality. Beach, supermarket and restaurants just a few steps away. We hardly noticed the traffic on the main road. However, the neighbouring house is being completely renovated and built, which could take a few more weeks.

A great place to relax and wind down away from the hustle and bustle of daily lives. And the food at the supermarket Pingo Doce is really amazing !!! They have lamb , octopus , clams and you name it and the menu changes everyday ! Get a mountain bike to see the island at your own pace as the roads are very bicycle friendly.

The place is very quite and with very nice Long Beach with amazing sea color.
There are bar on the beach making party with deejays.
When you arrive on the island if you haven’t rented any car you might face problem finding taxi.
Today I had the ferry at noon and I discovered that the public transport stop to work at 11. This is crazy and only to assure income to taxis which often are not enough. In any case the place is nice and after you learned a few lessons you want to come back.

Very nice little island, perfect to relax for 4-7 days as beach holiday "pre-course" for a Madeira hiking/action holiday. Not as green as Madeira, but has beautiful beaches & views, also some nice hikes.

Not like Madeira - easy, peaceful, rather flat desert island. You can spend time in the beach, "climb" one of 3 "mountains", walk along hiking trails for nice views, go kayaking, visit sand dunes (unlike any other dunes I've seen). With a car you can visit most of the spots in 2 days, without a car - a week is more than enough.

We were staying in Funchal and it was great to get over to...
We were staying in Funchal and it was great to get over to Porto Santos for a couple of days. We got the ferry over, the ferry only runs once a day - early morning out and late evening back, so plenty of time to explore if you are just going for the day. We went overnight, which was just right for us, and stayed in the very lovely 16 Porto Santos apartments. The beaches were lovely, and not busy at all. We went on the open top bus tour, which was a great way to see the island. Plenty of local restaurants and cafes to chose from. All in all, well recommended for a short break if you are holidaying in Funchal.
The view was fantastic and the hotel was beautiful! We used the reading nook upstairs, which had a terrific view and was a great place to relax and recharge our electronics. It was a very convenient walk into town and to restaurants. We especially liked the hotel's restaurant and the staff there. We loved breakfast - it was delicious! If we are lucky enough to visit again, we would certainly stay with you. The front desk staff was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful!
Porto Santo destination is the perfect place to have peace and quiet for an affordable price. It's located at the far end of the island, minutes walk from the beatiful beach.
The best thing about the place was the welcoming staff and especially Nunu, who is the most accomidating and will not hesitate to help in need. If you have a bit of time, let him take you on a tour around the island, you will not regret it. The hostel was nice and clean.
The hosts were very sweet, friendly and helpful. The apartment was perfect for a couple and the view was out of this world. We spent hours on the beautiful balcony and had relaxing evenings with netflix in front on the view. We were also able to borrow the scooter free of charge, which helped us a lot getting around the island and to the house. That was a major plus. Would really recommend renting this apartment!
Everything was great in this hotel from the delicious buffet meals where fish taste like fish and meat like meat, to the kindness and professionalism of the staff, that did not allow people to cut in the line while waiting for the check in. The rooms are quite big and there are always lots of things to do. I will surely come back and I highly recommend to chose the all inclusive option.
This was a great place to spend the night while in Porto Santo! The location was central to destinations, including shops, restaurants and the beach. The apartment was bright, clean, well appointed and comfortable. The host went out of his way to help with recommendations, and was very accessible. Definitely recommend!
Perfect location, 2min off the town center. The house itself has everything you need, including an outdoor lounge/bbq area, and a table which is perfect for your meals.
Checking in and out was easy, and would definitely stay there again and for longer.
The biggest supermarket of the island is also right next door.
Location is a bit far from the main town, but I see that as an advantage - very quiet, beach is uncrowded, peaceful experience, kayaking or hiking trails on that side of the island are very close.
The home itself has everything needed for a longer stay, also nicely decorated with paintings and ship models.
We had an apartment which had a lot of space and was comfortable to stay in. Breakfast had a lot of variety, I just didn't like the coffee they had (which happened in a lot of hotels on Madeira as well). The staff was really friendly as well. Everything seemed quite clean as well.
Already know quite well Porto Santo and I can say the location is just perfect. 5-10min walk from city center and 1-2min walk from the beach (just on the other side of the road)
Its a small but cosy place and ideal for some days at this lovely island.
Large room with separate bedroom, aircon, large bed and plenty of storage. All kept very clean and hotel staff were great. Breakfast selection although fairly basic was fine for our needs. Lovely pool and perfect location to enjoy the beautiful beach.
the breakfast is terrible. Literally zero vegetables, bad coffee and juices. Only sygary things to eat. It would be better not to propose breakfast and I believe the hotel woul be rated higher than it is at the moment.
Staff was very helpful and kind. The hotel is close to the beach, 2m walk which was great.
The pools were good and we could use also the restaurants and pools from the other Pestana hotel which is co-located.
