We loved EVERYTHING about our stay. You're in the city center, location is just perfect. The room was beautiful, the bed comfortable, the bathroom and shower big and perfect. I looove when there are slippers in the room and there were !!! The lobby is beautiful too, the bar is superb. Now of course, the best of the best : the breakfast. OH.MY.GOD. My partner said 10 times "I think I never had such a good breakfast". It's true, it was amazing. ALL the products seem to be homemade and fresh and taste so good. You have everything, different breads, potatoes, eggs, bacon, sausages, veggies (and all of these slightly change day by day) and everything to go with them, and sweet choices to die for, cakes, pasteis de nata of course (amazing), pancakes, yogurt, granola, peanut butter, chocolate paste, different seeds, and so on ! Omg so much, I've uploaded a video of the buffet on my google review ! Also the little attentions from the hotel were sooo cute and pleasant !!! First day we got back to our room, we had two pasteis de nata waiting for us and a little bottle of ginja, that was awesome !!! Next day, they had hot chocolate downstairs (see pictures) with christmas cake ! and in the room, we found a little pot with everything inside to make the same hot chocolate as theirs, with a note and explanations. We traveled a lot but it was the first time we got stuff like that.

We stayed at the suite which exceeded our expectations. A very comfortable room and extra large bed, TV opposite the bed with Netflix (you need to log in with your account), very good noise insulation, huge bathroom, very central location. The common areas are very cosy, the breakfast is continental and delicious (croissants and other pastries, juices, yoghurt, cereal, bread, cheese, ham, jams etc). The staff was very helpful and pleasant - we even received a message that our room was ready earlier, so we managed to have an early check-in. The coffee and cake corner available is an extra touch. We loved it so much that we decided to stay for another night!

Very kind & supportive staff; very delicious breakfast (nice concept with buffet but also additional ordering at the table); „at home“ feeling in my room with comfortable interior design (love for every detail & small gestures). I arrived at the hotel in the evening. Very friendly first impression and the prompt agreement that they will turn on the sauna for me. I could go in my room and get comfy & then directly downstairs after 20mins to enjoy an empty & most pleasant spa atmosphere. Big love!

Interesting place. It’s not fancy, pretty or touristy; there’s a big ugly industrial fishing port on one end. But there is real life there. There’s a square with a handful of cafes and one or two grocers. There are a number of charmingly no-frills restaurants serving truly delicious food (recommend Sabores2 for the BBQ, and the cafe with yellow chairs in the town square for coffee and pastries). There are a couple of bars. Most places seem to be full of locals; kind of the inverse of Lisbon centre. Everyone I met was friendly and helpful, but I did feel self-conscious at times as a solo traveller amongst locals. Trafaria is really quick and easy to get to other places: gorgeous beaches and the more touristy Costa da Caparica are only a 7 min/4 euro uber away (50 ish min walk). Lisbon centre and airport are a 20-30 min uber depending on traffic and which part you want to go to. I’m really glad I went because I saw a side of Portugal I hadn’t seen before. I would happily return for the pastry cafe on the square and the bbq restaurant. And Casa Barr hotel was great.
