The house had everything we needed and more for our stay. The hosts could not have been more helpful, the decor is beautiful and it was a real home away from home in a great location. Casa Dolce is centrally located in the old town. It's an old, very narrow house that has been sensitively and skillfully renovated. The hostess, Sally, has thought of everything a guest could need. From umbrellas to mosquito repellent, everything is there. The well-equipped kitchen includes not only plenty of spices but also a well-stocked refrigerator. The highlight is the beautiful roof terrace with its many plants. Sally is always available via WhatsApp and is very friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely stay here. Renata gave us a very warm welcome and did everything she could for us while we were there. Our room had a really good king size bed, large bathroom and an entry area for luggage space, all spotlessly clean. Fruit trees are out the back so there are no near neighbours. An outside kitchen area has a microwave, fridge, coffee pod machine, plates and cutlery. Every area connects to the courtyard pool, which encourages some interaction with the owners and other guests.

A beautiful, mediaeval town with a castle and lots of local history. Fantastic restaurants of all kinds, the local residents are exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Don't come here for a wild time, it is several miles from a beach but you can easily get there by car or taxi, and there are no night clubs here either. Just go for the culture, countryside and the wonderful food and wine. NB>>the castle and cathedral are up a very long and steep hill with slippery, cobbled narrow roads, so consider this if you are of restricted mobility.

I liked everything about this town.

I liked everything about this town. There was a lot of lovely restaurants also. The river walk is wonderful and great to see the local people out enjoying themselves. Musaika restaurant has marvellous food and people lovely. Traditional Fado singer and musicians on Sunday nights - superb. A lovely refined heritage town. The castle is also very beautiful with lovely gardens.

Silves is a small town with a river running through it that isn't too "Touristy". There are plenty of bars, restaurants, shops and cafes. The cathederal and the Castle are worh a visit and the Medieval festival was jolly! Beaches are an easy drive away Its great if you're looking for a quieter holiday but still with enough variety of places to eat to keep you going for a week or two!

Loads of interesting history and some amazing locations to visit. Everywhere was walking distance, although some may find some of the inclines a little challenging. Ubers are plenty, cheap and the drivers are very professional and friendly. Indeed everyone there was, in my experience, friendly and welcoming and very helpful. I always felt very welcome and at ease. The restaurants and bars were great - the food and drink (especially the rose wine and port), was exceptional. Just one word of warning - the mosquitoes (certainly in April) were voracious and vicious. Take some repellant with you, along with your favourite antihistamine if you are sensitive to insect bites.

Silves is a pretty and traditional Portugeese town with history and architecture and facilities for the tourist. It is a good place to visit. The deserted and boarded up trainstation looks like something out of an old western. Taking the train in the Algarve is great, but sad that the people let their trainstations decay. This is an otherwise great inroad to Silves but two kilometers from town. A geographical oddity.

I am spending three months in Portugal, travelling around, and Silves is one of my favourite finds. I loved all the storks and their nests, the castle on the top of the hill, and the abundance of nature. Our favourite restaurant was Cafe Ingles near the castle where we had a late dinner. There is a coffee shop, Ana & Joana, in a corner by the castle, which served amazing upside down orange cake. The owner was very kind and accommodating and made the visit memorable. We walked most of the time and found it easy to get around. When we were looking for the museum, I stepped into an art shop and the owner came out on the street to point me in the right direction.

the location is ideal for couples like us who like to walk and discover the area without too much crowd around. it was wonderful to eat at the local diners and interact with the locals. Silves touts a lot of about its historical places of interests but we found the information about their past history especially the Islamic part of it (we are Muslims so that sort of explain our interest) a little lacking. But we still very much enjoyed our stay there.

Super nice suites at a perfect location. Nice and quiet at night. Free parking just 50 meters from the hotel. Great food as well and the staff is very nice. The owner Sharif is one of the nicest persons you'll ever meet, super friendly and helpful. He also speaks at least French, German and English.

We absolutely loved staying in Miguel and gustavos beautiful home. Enjoyed the pool, the cats, dogs, garden and comfy amenities. Very relaxed stay. Close to the charming town of silves. Our hosts were very kind and charming.
