This accommodation truly took me by surprise – in the best way. First of all, the hostel is run by wonderful owners who are incredibly kind, welcoming, and communicative. During my travels in Portugal, I faced an unexpected and serious issue, and they went out of their way to help me simply out of goodwill. Second, the place is very well maintained. There’s a pool and a small courtyard to relax in, a games and entertainment room, comfortable beds, clean and well-equipped bathrooms, and even a shared balcony with lovely views of the countryside and nearby horses. Third, the village itself is absolutely charming. If you're looking for hidden gems in Portugal, this is definitely one of them – a beautiful hilltop fortress with a church, narrow walking streets, a pedestrian bridge over the river, and plenty of peaceful spots to sit and enjoy the view. This is an excellent place to spend the night. And if you ask, the hosts are more than happy to share their personal recommendations for what to see and where to eat in the area.

The location was excellent with a view over the river, the continental style breakfast was adequate but could have been elevated maybe by offering scrambled/boiled eggs etc

The host Uiara was super kind and accommodating. When we arrived she already had our rooms and the common area comfortable with heating (it was cold out) and she let us keep our bikes inside the main house. The breakfast was the most impressive I've had a hotel in Portugal, it was like a fancy restaurant spread.

The owners, Manuela and Manuel, are very welcoming and hospitable. The house is very clean, tidy, and smells great. The room is spacious and comfortable. The bathroom in my room is very large and equipped with facilities for people with disabilities, which is a nice touch. The kitchen has everything you need for storing and preparing food, including a coffee machine, a kettle, as well as coffee, various teas, and cookies. All of this is complimentary for the guests. There's also an inner courtyard that you can access from the kitchen. I liked everything here. It's a place you want to return to.

Everything, specially the horses. Magnificent and majestic creatures. They visited us at a distance and made us company for a while, even thru the night.
