Above all the friendliness and determination of the staff to ensure that we were happy and satisfied. But the breakfast also deserves a special mention, it was out of this world! The location is also excellent, in itself with the spectacular cliff top setting, but also a very good base to explore the north east of Madeira.

Perfect accommodation even for a longer stay. The apartments are large, spacious, clean. New furniture, special attention paid to details - dishes, decorations, it was good to be like at home. The apartments are located in the mountains, where silence, quality rest, and fresh air will await you. It was wonderful to always have free parking. We lived in Madeira for 3 weeks in various accommodations and this one was the best of all - I recommend it!

This was a very pleasant stay. I did not met Lily but Marco, both had a forthcoming style of communication and were very friendly. There was a welcome present waiting for me and i had a nice chat with Marco. It is a very nice house, it is up the hill, to get there you have to drive up some very steep and narrow roads - nothing unusal for madeira. Everything is more or less new, they do a very good cleaning job. It was a bit of a wet and cold time when i was there but they were prepared with an electrical heater.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Casa de Campo do Arco de São Jorge, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect retreat. The cottage was exceptionally comfortable and well-equipped; it truly felt like a home away from home, and we never found ourselves lacking anything during our stay. The weather in February was cool, so we made full use of the cozy fireplace, which not only kept us warm but also added a lovely atmosphere to the house. It was a great way to unwind after a day of exploring. The surroundings were absolutely stunning—lush, vibrant greenery stretched out in every direction, and the clouds, hovering at the top of the mountain behind the house, created a dramatic and picturesque view. It felt like we were tucked away in a serene, peaceful haven. We were pleased to find that the cottage was well-maintained, and halfway through our stay, it was cleaned and the bed linens and towels were replaced, ensuring everything remained fresh and comfortable. The location was ideal, with a local bar and restaurant less than 100 meters from the house, providing convenient dining options. Additionally, the supermarket in Santana was just a 10-minute drive away, making it easy to stock up on supplies. The cottage was also a fantastic base for exploring the island, with its location providing easy access to a variety of attractions and natural beauty spots. Overall, Casa de Campo do Arco de São Jorge was an excellent choice for our family getaway, offering both comfort and a perfect starting point for island exploration.

1. The people who work there are amazing. Super nice with a lovely energy. 🫶 2. The food! Wow. 3. The sunset here is so cool. 4. You're on one side of the island, but everything is close by (ex : 50min from Fanal Forest, 1h from Calheta beach, 45min from Pico do Arieiro, 35min from Funchal, etc.) -- Had fun driving through the sometimes scary roads haha. 5. Beautiful miradouros (viewpoints) around when you're heading to the B&B

Santana is a perfect location to explore the north coast.

Santana is a perfect location to explore the north coast. Not far away from airport and capital, but still on the north. Two hiking starting points are nearby: Queimadas and Achada do Teixeira. Santana also has an only large supermarket on the whole north coast, so you can buy delicious food right there. No such option in Porto Moniz or Seixal.

Cute little town.

Cute little town. The uniquely Madeiran thatched houses are worth a look. There is one nice gentleman who invites people to see inside a home that has been in his family for 100+ years. It's a small window into what life was like before all the tourism. Also, he's very kind and will offer you a coffee liqueur on arrival. A donation is generally appreciated at the end. Most importantly, he has adorable cats that hang out at the house, and one of the cats literally guided me up the path to his house. :)

Depends on each individual expectations, this is not a noise place with nitclubs, but it is very good for relaxation, countryside but wonderful, people are going earlier to bed and is so peaceful, you can find diferit restaurant on the village with a lot of options, I highly recommend it if you like the tranquility and nature

The hotel is very pleasant.

The hotel is very pleasant. It is good to be together with nature and with beautiful views over the sea and mountains. However, check-in took a long time, we waited 1 hour and a half for them to prepare the room, and when we got to the room, there were no pool towels, we had to ask at reception. Another situation that I didn't like was the booking of the wine tasting and visit to wine house. We were refused the wine tasting because we had already checked out at 12:00h. So we asked if we could do it before check out and they said yes, but we got there and nobody showed up.

Don't stay in Santana longer than 4 days and make sure you have a rental car to get to all the levadas easily. The restaurants/cafes in Santana are not that good/nice. The only tourist attraction in Santana are the famous Santana houses and the nearby hiking area Queimadas.

We made the mistake of not hiring a car before we got to the hotel. We figured we would see what Santana was like and then hire a car locally, this was a big mistake! Once we got to our hotel, it was clear that we would need a car to get around as nothing is close or easy to get to. We're super active people but local hikes are 30 mins just to get to. We were told it would be £630 to hire a car for 5 days. Our advice would be to hire a car ahead of your trip. Santana is beautiful and has such a variety of things to do and see. Other advice would be to not judge a book by its cover when it comes to restaurants, we ate the best stake in a tiny little restaurant that looked pretty grim from outside. You probably wont want to spend all your time in Santana but its a great base.

Pretty much everything! Handy location for Santana and exploring further afield, whilst offering beautiful countryside, including animals nearby, providing lots of interest for our children. Place was spotless and perfect for what we wanted, accommodating a family of four in comfort. Very helpful lady next door who could advise on anything (in Portuguese). Overall, a super quaint find, great for those seeking to escape from the modern rat race!!

The hotel was spacious with a pool and gym that was free to use (although I didn’t use them), the room was comfortable and clean with a large bathroom and balcony, the included breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. The hotel was a 2 minute walk from the centre of Santana where the old style houses are. I also found it easy to get a taxi / bolt from here.

Very nice hotel in the center of Santana. The person at reception is very kind, and listens to our needs (thanks again for the advice on websites to use and webcams). As I wasn't there for the 2 breakfasts, they prepared a bag for me to take with me and I thank them. Correct room, I recommend 100% 👌🏻
