Being hilly, and with a great river, it has great views.

Being hilly, and with a great river, it has great views. There are lots of cafés and restaurants, and amazing old buildings. It's also relatively affordable for northwestern Europeans. It does feel, however, that there needs to be an injection of money to bring the quality of some of the normal buildings up to a better standard. Parts of the city feel a bit 'shabby' and in need of some more TLC. Overall, a great place to visit.

Porto is a beautiful city. So much history and culture.

Porto is a beautiful city. So much history and culture. Be prepared for a some hills and stairs, as it's definitely not flat! It is worth the effort. The people are friendly and the food and wine are outstanding. A winery tour to the Duoro Valley with lunch is highly recommended. We visited 3 wineries. Allow at least one day more than you need

I loved Portugal and Porto was my final city, and was the cherry on the sundae! Although a big city it's super easy, walkable city to get around, and there is lots to see and do. I always recommend a walking tour to help get to know your bearings.

It was raining the whole time we were there but even despite this, it was a splendid trip - that's how delightful Porto is! The architecture is beautiful, the streets quirky, and the views stunning. Sitting on the waterfront sipping amazing port, looking at Gaia and the many quaint bridges crossing the river, was such a special experience - so romantic. There's plenty of activities to fill a few days. Our highlights: - Graham's Lodge tour and port tasting - Centre of Photography: a vast collection and history of photography, in an old prison - and it's free! - Porto Cathedral You're spoilt for great places to eat, including some really impressive vegan restaurants.

Porto is a very beautiful city and perfect for anyone who enjoys walking. The streets are full of character, and every walk seems to lead to another great viewpoint or hidden corner. We especially enjoyed the view from Ponte Luís I, which offers stunning scenery over the river and the city. The wine tasting tour was another highlight of our trip and a great way to experience Porto’s famous wine culture. Overall, Porto is a charming city with plenty to see, do, and enjoy on foot.

We were glad to visit in December when Porto is less crowded. And yet, because it was on a weekend with a national holiday, it seemed really very busy. We were there 4 days. We loved the Palacio Bolsa, the San Francisco Church, the Time Out Restaurant, our Pastel de Nata Class, our cruise on the river, our walking tour with Freetour and walking around the city. We also visited Braga and Guimaraes. There is much to enjoy.

I’ve stayed in many hotels across Portugal through my work, but Porto Arts Club is one of a kind. It feels less like a hotel and more like a home, full of character, warmth, and intention. Thoughtful design, beautiful details, and a very serene atmosphere. A heartfelt thank you to the team for their warm welcome, and especially to Paula for her kindness and care - even with the laundry! It’s those gestures that make the difference :)

The hotel is located near a pedestrian road with many souvenir shops, restaurants, laundrette, and is walking distance (20 minutes) from the biggest attractions like the double deck bridge by the Duoro River. Reception staff are friendly, the rooms had all the modern conveniences of a good hotel and by comparison with others in Portugal, it was superior. and highly functional. Buffet breakfast was good too.

Room select hotel is quite well located as you can walk to the shopping area in Porto and walking to the center is still manageable. The hotel has a small parking, this is in an advantage if you are traveling in Portugal by car as driving in Porto is a nightmare and getting out of the city not easy. The employees at reception were helpful and friendly.

The hotel is a bit far from the city centre, but I was quite close to the location of the business meeting (approx. 20 minutes walk). Despite the problems with the power outage in Portugal, they managed to arrange an evening snack for me, as all the restaurants in the vicinity were closed. The rooms were large and comfortable, as was the bed.
