The LBV house hotel is spacious, clean, quiet and has a beautiful view of the surrounding area, especially from the pool area. The bed was comfortable and air conditioning was strong to provide immediate relief from the August heat. The staff were so kind and friendly and made us feel right at home. We could walk about 15 minutes to a nice dinner place and our tour of Quinta Bomfin. At night we felt less comfortable walking back since it was very dark, but otherwise everything was perfect!

Really clean and cozy appartement in the middle of Pinhão, most things are within walking distance. Amazing breakfast with all home made cakes and marmelades that tasted amazing. The hostess was really lovely and caring, making scrambled eggs on request for everyone staying. Even though they could not speak English she did everything to bond over breakfast using a translation app, which felt very welcoming. Really new apartment for an unbelievable price. Would definitely recommend booking when visiting the Douro valley!

Our host was very responsive. We arrived to find port and delicious oranges on the table. Location excellent.Close to train station and supermarket. We were met by the very friendly and helpful host, Isabella. She showed us through our apartment and explained that a breakfast basket would be delivered to our door at our preferred time in the morning. It was loaded with goodies like fresh bread, cheese, ham, yogurt and fruit. We received such a basket with fresh food on each morning of our stay. The property has a pool and lounge area with majestic views over the picturesque Douro Valley. It was a great spot to eat our breakfast and relax in the evening after a busy day out and about. A morning and afternoon swim was a must. We absolutely recommend this property. Thank you Isabella !!

Helena was present to welcome us upon our arrival and to give us the keys to the house and show us how everything worked and where to find everything. Helena is such a wonderful person, so kind and helpful. The house is very comfortable and offers plenty of light from the outside. The view to the vines is beautiful. The house is very clean. The pool table was a plus. There is also a jacuzzi but we did not use. We enjoyed the hearty breakfast in the morning. The kitchen is very well equipped for the preparation of other meals. Lots of hot water and very good pressure. There is a dedicated laundry area on the first floor with full size and separate washer and dryer. This is rare in Europe. We also appreciated the bathrobes and slippers. The restaurants and waterfront are 5 minutes down the hill by car. Car parking was easy. We stayed 1 week and we would come back anytime. The house is centrally located to most of the vineyards in the Douro Valley.

Location : Less than 5 mins walking from the train station. Perfect for dropping off the bags and going for winery tour. yes, it's little hilly way up. Room : It's a whole apartment, not just a single studio type room. Fully equipped kitchen, living room is well set up to relax. I found beds are comfier than average vacational rental ones. Clean & Spacious! Hospitality : Owner welcomed us upon arriving, explained few details might be tricky for travelers, like how to lock the door. She provided us coffee & tea, breakfast items & snacks. I believe breakfast is not included but it was thoughtful gesture since there is not much around the town, especially in off season. Feels right away that she genuinly cares, hence excellent reviews all around.

The little village is very small - very few stores and...

The little village is very small - very few stores and restaurants. A few wineries there for tastings. Need a car to be able to drive to the wineries at the top of the surrounding hills and even 30 minutes away. Taxis are very expensive. Driving can be harrowing on the steep hills and extremely narrow roads. It's a good place to go to launch yourself to wine tastings in the region. It's not a place to bring children. We enjoyed dinner family style at our Casa. We LOVED going to Wine and Soul - where they still stomp their grapes. Outstanding ports and wines.

Pinhão, though a charming small town, presented an unexpected significant hurdle: finding an evening meal. Choices were extremely limited, with many establishments not serving dinner or even opening until late, often 7 or 7:30 PM, and frustratingly, some simply remained closed on various nights without notice. Furthermore, visitors should bypass the one- or two-hour Douro River cruises offered there, as the views from the water offer little or nothing new that cannot be seen just as easily by driving around the area; perhaps okay if you're on a brief day excursion.

Quaint little town on the Doura Valley.

Quaint little town on the Doura Valley. It's built on a fairly steep hill, so bring your walking shoes! Good choice of restaurants (although check opening times). Lots of river based attractions (cruises) along with wine (port) tasting. If you don't like port or watery things avoid.

The town is busy during the day with tourists but quiet in the evening. The town is a bit shabby but very pleasant. The restaurants finish serving meals in the evening very early. The food in the restaurants was wholesome with large portions

Take the train from Porto, relax and enjoy the view along the way. Pinhão is a laid back 'Village' in the stunningly beautiful Douro Valley. I have been before and it hasn't lost its charm. Pinhão provides convenient access to Port Lodges in the vicinity without the need for a car for transportation. Safe Home & Hurry Back, that's what I say!

Douro Tour group was great.

Douro Tour group was great. Recommend the all day Douro Valley tour with boat ride, lunch, wine and port tastings, vineyard tours. It is an easy walk from Quinta Rosa to Pinhão. On our own, also went to olive oil museum tour which had olive oil and wine tastings overlooking stunning views. Walked back throughthe vineyards.

Easy street parking, a little hard to find the stairs but no problem after that. I did ask about the tumble dryer but there did not seem to be one. We did do 2 loads of laundry and had a rack to dry them. The apartment is pleasant and the breakfast was left in the fridge and was a nice touch. Excellent location in Pinhao. Have dinner at the Bridge restaurant, really excellent.

I couldn't agree more with all the positive reviews! This is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed, and rather felt like visiting friends! Although I stayed in Pinhao just for 2 days during my 2-week trip to Portugal, it was a highlight. This was largely due to the extraordinary hospitality and great tips by Pedro and Sara.
