Fabulous. The one bed apartment has all the facilities you need, smart TV, lots of space and the small pool is beautiful. Private gated car parking in front of the apartments made it perfect for motorcycles. The owner met us and showed us round and was available to answer questions. It’s just a short walk into the town centre with a couple of small supermarkets and plenty of bars and restaurants. The breakfast provided was amazing!! Warm scrambled eggs, several warm pastries, bread rolls, ham and cheese, yogurt, OJ. We didn’t need to eat out at all! Totally recommended

Everything was perfect. Lady owner was so kind like everybody in this village. So quiet and nice place with welcoming people. The apartment was cute old house with everhing you could need. Well equipped kitchen, porch with grill grate and also with coal.

We used this town as the base for our explorations of the...

We used this town as the base for our explorations of the Serra do Açor. It worked well for that purpose. We were able to drive to Piódão one day to visit the schist village there. And we spent one evening stargazing. The night sky was of very good quality according to our astronomer daughter who was traveling with us. We were able to see the Milky Way!! One evening we drove to Coja and dined at Restaurante Príncipe do Alva. We had a good meal of traditional Portuguese food with an upscale twist and wonderful, attentive service. There is only 1 small café/market in town. The mountain roads were in good shape, usually 2 lanes (although narrow), and paved. However they are twisty and can be steep, especially the switchbacks. It takes longer to drive from place to place than you might think because the roads slow you down.
