It is a little diamond of a place. We had the best sleep - comfy bed and it was so quiet. Lovely view from the balcony. It’s the perfect location….Terra Nostra is just around the corners. At the most 15 min east to the Caldeiras o Vulcōes, 10 min walk to the gorgeous Poça da Dona Beija. We walked to the lake and it was about 25 min away. The room was spacious. A bonus that there are towels to take to the pools available in the room. We dined in the restaurant below….which was very tasty local produce plus the best service. The communication with Graça was superb…very quick and always helpful and accommodating. You can cook in the kitchen….we didn’t as we like to support the local business and try the local food. It’s a true 5*.

Spectacular park and hot springs. The foliage in the park is magnificent rivalling some of the most iconic parks in the world. Quiet, close to quiet seaside town with whale watching, fishing and good food.

The best place to stay on Sao Miguel.

The best place to stay on Sao Miguel. You can easily walk to Lake Furnas and Parque Grená which has lots of waterfalls. There are thermal springs you can visit at both Terra Nostra and Poça da Dona Beija (which was great at night time). Espinha cocktail bar was lovely as was Terra Nostra Restaurant. You could spend a whole day walking around the area where there are parks with geothermal activity and a beautiful church in the centre. We ate in a lot and there are lots of lovely bakeries in the town and supermarkets.

Exceptionally nice and comfortable accommodation.

Exceptionally nice and comfortable accommodation. The accommodation was in a quiet location close to a large park, the town centre and excellent restaurants (especially a superb "Restaurante Tony's"). A free parking space on the street nearby was available even when returning from trips in the evening. The landlady was very nice, she cleaned the room every day and changed the towels every day. Cleanliness was outstanding. The room overlooking the courtyard with the pool and with access to the terrace (table, parasol, chairs) was spacious and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace and a kettle in the room contributed to the morning comfort.

This is a rather hilly town, so it might not be ideal for...

This is a rather hilly town, so it might not be ideal for people with walking difficulties. In many of the streets the cobbled footpaths are very narrow - less than a metre wide - and many drivers go much too fast, which is scary for pedestrians. Finding a place to park near the centre is virtually impossible. I imagine a wheelchair user would struggle with the narrow, cobbled streets. However, Furnas has got lots of friendly, helpful people who seem to be happy to direct visitors to the caldeiras (hot springs) and other attractions such as the botanic gardens. If you don't speak Portuguese, you'll find many of the younger people, and those in tourist-facing businesses speak at least some "tourist English". Many of the signs in areas that are of interest to tourists are printed in Portuguese and English.

Beautiful houses in lovely park surrounded by bamboo plantation, SPA, cold swimming pool, warm jacuzzi bath, sauna and gym. Walking threw the town and the fantastic botanical garden, looking for the cozido cooking in the hot pools and relaxing in the warm thermal pools. Looking for restaurant "Tony", meals must ordered a day before.

It's the most beautiful terrace view house we have ever been. It was an amazing stay in very clean house with amazing garden (comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen). Location was fabulous, 15 min walking to the lake, 5 min to thermal waters, right in the center of lovely Furnas). I wish everybody could stay in this clouds house while travelling.

The location is perfect for Furnas activities and amenities. The apartment is beautifully presented and well furnished with everything you need. The spacious living area, bedroom and bathroom were all clean. Tidy and welcoming. It was everything we'd hoped for. The host was lovely and responded quickly when required.
