Very nice hotel. The room was big with its own bathroom. I loved the big bathtub! And the view from the balcony (3rd floor) was so beautiful. I highly appreciate that there was a cattle with two cups and tea (black and green) as well as a big beautiful bottle of local mineral water in the room. The tea and water were refilled every day when the maids cleaned up the room. The bedding sheets smelled fresh and the bed was big and comfortable. There was also an extra blanket if you feel chilly. There was a really nice chain of lights attached to the wall behind the bed that gave a cozy light. Additionally, there were two table lamps on each side of the bed and a big room light. The balcony had two curtains, one see through curtain to keep insects out and a thick curtain to keep the room dark at night. They did a good job. A second pool was being renovated while I was there which should be ready to be used in July 2023. I didn't get to use the pools because the weather was too chilly and sun and rain alternated too often, so I preferred the hot springs in the city instead, but in the peak of summer they would be really nice to have. The hotel was super quiet and the staff was friendly and speaks fluent English and French. I really enjoyed my stay. I don't understand why this hotel has only 1 star. It should be at least 2, if not 3. I highly recommend this place.

The guesthouse is well prepared with all the basics for a comfy stay. The room was spacious and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location in Furnas, 1min walking from Parque Terra Nostra and 10min walking from Dona Beija. Fantastic trail to Lagoa das Furnas, where the typical cozido is cooked and surrounded by pure beauty.

The best place to stay on Sao Miguel.

The best place to stay on Sao Miguel. You can easily walk to Lake Furnas and Parque Grená which has lots of waterfalls. There are thermal springs you can visit at both Terra Nostra and Poça da Dona Beija (which was great at night time). Espinha cocktail bar was lovely as was Terra Nostra Restaurant. You could spend a whole day walking around the area where there are parks with geothermal activity and a beautiful church in the centre. We ate in a lot and there are lots of lovely bakeries in the town and supermarkets.

Exceptionally nice and comfortable accommodation. The accommodation was in a quiet location close to a large park, the town centre and excellent restaurants (especially a superb "Restaurante Tony's"). A free parking space on the street nearby was available even when returning from trips in the evening. The landlady was very nice, she cleaned the room every day and changed the towels every day. Cleanliness was outstanding. The room overlooking the courtyard with the pool and with access to the terrace (table, parasol, chairs) was spacious and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace and a kettle in the room contributed to the morning comfort.

This is a rather hilly town, so it might not be ideal for people with walking difficulties. In many of the streets the cobbled footpaths are very narrow - less than a metre wide - and many drivers go much too fast, which is scary for pedestrians. Finding a place to park near the centre is virtually impossible. I imagine a wheelchair user would struggle with the narrow, cobbled streets. However, Furnas has got lots of friendly, helpful people who seem to be happy to direct visitors to the caldeiras (hot springs) and other attractions such as the botanic gardens. If you don't speak Portuguese, you'll find many of the younger people, and those in tourist-facing businesses speak at least some "tourist English". Many of the signs in areas that are of interest to tourists are printed in Portuguese and English.

Beautiful houses in lovely park surrounded by bamboo plantation, SPA, cold swimming pool, warm jacuzzi bath, sauna and gym. Walking threw the town and the fantastic botanical garden, looking for the cozido cooking in the hot pools and relaxing in the warm thermal pools. Looking for restaurant "Tony", meals must ordered a day before.

If you are into massproduced topmodern luxury housing that looks the same all over the world, this is not for you. If you are looking for something that has the charm of the local ways of housing, built by the owners or their (grand)parents for their own families and now becoming available for tourists, then ready, set, go! A lot of natural light inside, a huge balcony over the village of Furnas and the garden. Add to the mix an uncomplicated and very nice owner. To me this is what I'm looking for as housing on the azores.

I've been going to this hotel during my visits on the island for the past 12 years now, and have never been disappointed. The staff is always helpful and friendly, beds are super-comfortable, great breakfast, breath-taking garden area and thermal pool. And everything else you may need is within walking distance in the village. Will likely return next year.

The apartment is very beautiful and in good location. We found everything we needed, the apartment has all the needed appliances, including washing machine, kitchen utensils and others. The host was very helpful and answered all our questions. Also, the view from the terrace is astonishing. It is a great place to stay while experiencing Furnas.

A wonderful hotel with great facilities. The staff were really nice and friendly, and the food was amazing (even as a vegetarian, there were lots of different options and I tried almost everything - all were really good). I definitely recommend this hotel. It's also well located for driving around the island, or simply visiting Furnas.

The location in Furnas (right in the center!) and the free easy parking is really nice! Also the bathroom was nice, spaceous and clean. The shower is comfy. The guest house had some nice classic and historical elements that are very pretty. The garden is also a really nice addition to the stay.
