I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming, owner-run guesthouse right on the beachfront and it was a truly wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the warmth and genuine hospitality of the owner, António, made me feel instantly at home. The location is simply unbeatable; stepping directly from the front door onto the boardwalk and having the sound of the waves lull me to sleep was a dream come true. My room was exactly as in the photo's advertised, immaculately clean, thoughtfully decorated and very modern, and offered a breathtaking ocean view. What sets this guesthouse apart is the personal touch: the owner's attentiveness, the local recommendations tailored to my interests, and the sheer dedication to ensuring every guest has a perfect stay. It’s a peaceful, welcoming retreat that perfectly captures the magic of a beachfront getaway. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return!

We enjoyed our stay at A&z Guest House. The staff were super friendly and professional. Mario was most helpful and courteous while Diana was cheerful and respectful. The food at the Resturant Zagalo was superb . A sumptuous breakfast was served every morning. The walk along the beach and the boardwalks close to the town are great. If you do not have a car, then train station is close by. It's a small beachside town and loved the chilled and relaxed vibe of Espinho

Espinho was a great town with lovely restaurants and bars. The person at the train station was particularly helpful as we went to Porto and Avira on day trips. So easy to travel. The town was beautifully lit up.

Espinho is about 40 mins taxi from airport. It’s a Lovely quiet coastal city. Beautiful beaches and boardwalks for miles. Lovely restaurants in Espinho. Everything is easy to access- train to Porto very regular and so cheap also. Only takes about 30 mins.

I grow up in Espinho and it always a pleasure to come back . This year the family explored different restaurants and the experience was fantastic. But we had to wait to get tables because it had long queues

Espinho has a lovely long stretch of white-sand beach.

Espinho has a lovely long stretch of white-sand beach. It's a very relaxed town, not very touristy. It's less than 30 minutes away from central Porto (by Uber) - and Uber is not too expensive (about €10). Espinho has a market every Monday. We checked it out, and I was blown away by how huge it is. They sell absolutely everything - from clothes to thousands of shoes, to household items, to food, and (unfortunately) live animals. But the level of English is pretty low, so practice your Portuguese, and bring cash. Then relax at the beach bar at the end of the day to watch the sunset - with a cold Super Bock, of course.

Espinho beach is a long, sandy, surf lovers beach.

Espinho beach is a long, sandy, surf lovers beach. The city is the third most expensive real estate in Portugal because of the beach and the casino. You can find free parking in many places, and it’s easily accessible for surfers. Good restaurants and cafes along the promenade and beautiful place to watch a sunset. Only thing missing is a good contemporary art gallery which they really should start focusing on because of the clientele and general beauty of the place.

The flat is spacious and exceptionally clean and well equipped. The location is lovely and quiet with access to beautiful beaches - we took the car to reach wilder beaches (less than 2 miles away) but the closest beach is only a 10 minute walk. Espinho has everything we needed and Porto is easily accessible for a day trip. The check in experience was great with excellent communication and a warm welcome. Would definitely recommend this place!

Apartament was looking great, kitchen fully-equpied, it is located in the center of the city. The Host is very helpful and kind. It is easy to get to Porto by Uber. Train station can get you to Aveiro or Lisbon very easily and its only ca 350m by foot. Great place if you want to relax on beach. Great place to explore center and north of Portugal.

The staff, especially Ms Anna (Reception) was unfriendly and had a bad attitude against customers. We will never come back again. She had a hatred speech and was disrespectful against us. That is why it had to end in a fight at the reception. We don’t recommend Ms Anna at the reception as it can lead to more bad reviews for the hotel.

It was right next to the beach and the ocean. Also the train station and supermarket were nearby. We had hotel breakfast and they were amazing, huge reach of food to select. The stuff gave us some tips for trips with hints how to get there.
