Full 10! Great memories. Hospitable host - Antonio. It is also worth visiting his restaurant at Rua 4. Indeed comfortable bed. Nice service, fresh and clean room. Generally no problems and no complains at all. Air conditioning in every room, cleaning as in a good hotel. Small fridge in the room helps a lot. The location itself is convenient, between the busy center of Espinho and the beach, close to every corner. you just go out of the room into the corridor, open the door and there is the ocean. wide sandy beach, safe (guarded) and not crowded (September). Refreshing water, it is not the same as in Spain or Algarve, but it allows you to cool down when the heat comes. Also a convenient place for surfers, there are even a few specialized schools. Wide sandy beach with a lot of diffrent shells to see.

This is a great guesthouse! The English speaking staff person welcomed us a bit early to check in. We had secure bicycle parking. Very comfortable bed, clean new bathroom and shower. There was an outdoor space in a patio outside our room plus a patio out front with ocean view. The buffet breakfast was outstanding. Friendly staff. We stayed only one night and would have stayed longer but were concerned about possible rain. We hope to return to Guesthouse A & Z and t Espinho which has great seafood restaurants.

I stayed at Alameda Guest House for a weekend getaway and was not disappointed. The hostess, Dona Fatima, is the friendliest person in the world. She even upgraded the room I booked, at no extra cost, just because better rooms were available that night! The house has a special charm: it is an old, well-preserved building with colorful, cheerful decor. The room we stayed in was the size of a small apartment, with a living room and a kitchen with all the usual appliances (microwave, toaster, coffee maker). We didn't stay inside for long enough to use any of these, but it could be a great option for families on longer trips. The breakfast included in the price of the stay was delicious, with several homemade items and fresh juice and coffee prepared on the spot. I hope to return to Alameda Guest House to spend more time. The location is equally incredible, close to the beach, and close to everything worth seeing in Espinho! If you go there, don't forget to enjoy Dona Fatima's hospitality!

Espinho was a great town with lovely restaurants and bars. The person at the train station was particularly helpful as we went to Porto and Avira on day trips. So easy to travel. The town was beautifully lit up.

Espinho is about 40 mins taxi from airport. It’s a Lovely quiet coastal city. Beautiful beaches and boardwalks for miles. Lovely restaurants in Espinho. Everything is easy to access- train to Porto very regular and so cheap also. Only takes about 30 mins.

Espinho has a lovely long stretch of white-sand beach.

Espinho has a lovely long stretch of white-sand beach. It's a very relaxed town, not very touristy. It's less than 30 minutes away from central Porto (by Uber) - and Uber is not too expensive (about €10). Espinho has a market every Monday. We checked it out, and I was blown away by how huge it is. They sell absolutely everything - from clothes to thousands of shoes, to household items, to food, and (unfortunately) live animals. But the level of English is pretty low, so practice your Portuguese, and bring cash. Then relax at the beach bar at the end of the day to watch the sunset - with a cold Super Bock, of course.

Espinho beach is a long, sandy, surf lovers beach.

Espinho beach is a long, sandy, surf lovers beach. The city is the third most expensive real estate in Portugal because of the beach and the casino. You can find free parking in many places, and it’s easily accessible for surfers. Good restaurants and cafes along the promenade and beautiful place to watch a sunset. Only thing missing is a good contemporary art gallery which they really should start focusing on because of the clientele and general beauty of the place.

The location is fantastic, just in front of the wonderful Espinho beach. Parking close to the hotel might be an issue since this turistic resort is always very busy in the Summer. The room, although very tiny, has everything you would need for your staying. Guests can use the common kitchen and enjoy breathtaking sunsets just from their room vindow.

Fernando and Daniel are remarkable hosts, to a really lovely property - I diamond in the rough so to speak. Thoroughly recommend both their property, and Espinho, as wonderful place to explore the area, and also as an stress-free base for Porto and Minho.
