This was a really nice, comfortable place to stay in Ericeira. I was there for 5 or 6 days. I don't know how it compares for price against other lodgings in the centro historico, but probably pretty favorably or I wouldn't have booked a stay here in the first place (I generally stay in more economical or mid-range places). Casa dos Cucos is sort of a hybrid hostel-hotel: my private room was amply sized, two big windows, two twin beds; bathrooms are shared but there are enough, so no traffic jams; a couple of large common areas with big tables; a large and excellently appointed shared kitchen, with a dishwasher, no less. The place, in an old building just off Old Town's main square, Praça da Republica, was beautifully renovated and simply and tastefully furnished, and even includes a small patio outside the kitchen door. And as can happen at the more fun hostels I've stayed at over the years, I met and had some great conversations with a few of the other guests, interesting people from all sorts of different places. This is less apt to happen if you're in and out in just a night or two, of course. The hostel even puts bathrobes in the rooms, for getting to and from the bathrooms. A very nice touch, and I got a good laugh from it. I am quite a large man, almost 2 meters and 115 kg. The bathrobe barely reached to the critical areas and wouldn't close around my waist. Not even close. It might have fit my 9-year-old granddaughter. Maybe. Not a problem, for sure a good laugh. To characterize a bit further: As I was hiking down the steep hill from the bus station to Casa dos Cucos in the rain, I contacted Miguel to let him know I was about 20 minutes from checking in, as he had asked me to do. Unbidden, he called me back, figured out where I was, told me to stay put for a couple of minutes, and came to pick me up in his car! How cool was that for him to do?

We spent 2 wonderful weeks with our family in the Terra Lodge. We had a spacious family room with an adjoining shared kitchen. The large garden with pool and relaxation areas was perfect for us. The surrounding area with its great beaches and restaurants made the whole thing simply unforgettable. Many thanks also to Natasha, who looked after us so well. We would love to come back.

Ericeira is a beautiful village on the water. Many beaches all within walking distance. Love the town square, for coffee/meals/shopping. The local ourico pastry was delicious. Loved that we could walk to Ribeira d'Ilhas. Surfed once there but weather didn't permit more. Great place for lunch. Nice relaxed vibe, a combination of locals and surfers. The cliff hikes were amazing in both directions. Easy access from Lisbon airport. Loved hiking out of Praia Foz do Lizandro and lunch at Kanoa. Loved Tiger and Chick for coffee, Pedro Dura and Ti Matilde for dinner.People were very nice.

I've been visiting Erticeira for many years. It's a lovely friendly town, with good beaches, lots of surfing, plenty of bars and several very good restaurants. It's a perfect place for a relaxed long weekend...

The beaches were stunning and the town centre very cute, with lots of really nice places to eat. It's especially ideal for surfers, but my husband and I weren't surfers and had a great time anyway.

I have an Autistic/epileptic adult son.

I have an Autistic/epileptic adult son. Ericeira was a great place to keep as a base and travel out on day trips. It is a surfer's paradise. The town itself has tons of restaurants and stores to explore. We rented a car and explored other beaches nearby. The town is easy to walk around. There are some hills but most can manage them. The people are lovely. We went in early September so the crowds were less. Never had to wait for a table to eat. Perfect distance from Lisbon and easy to get Ubers to and from there is you choose to.

The proximity to the was good.

The proximity to the was good. The apartment was clean but had unsafe factors - electric iron with wires exposed , and potential risk of electrocution of the user. Cracked crockery also presented a potential health risk.

Very sweet town, loved walking the passeo along the water...

Very sweet town, loved walking the passeo along the water and watching the kids and surfers enjoying the waves among the various beaches. We walked everywhere and left the rental car in the garage for the full two days. Very friendly and welcoming! I would recommend a two night minimum - we could have stayed for a weeklong beach vacation but wanted to fit in more of Portugal within our vacation week.

Very good location in beautiful Ericeira. Spacious apartment easy to relax in with large bedrooms and nice sofa in the lounge area. The owner is very helpful and helped with all our questions. The main large supermarket is next door making shopping very easy, the boutique grocer is also easy walking distance as is the main town square and family beaches. The main surf beaches are a bit further and accessible by bus or car although we even walked there one day.

The location was fantastic. , close to town to either walk or use the hotel bicycles. Across the rd from the beach. We loved having all the facilities of a hotel but the privacy of our own apartment which was so spacious and well equipped. Loved the thoughtful details. The staff were amazing. Dinner at the on site restaurant was superb. Had a great massage at the spa too.

The hosts are wonderful, Nelson is such a friendly guy. There was nothing we could not ask him. He stayed in contact with us during our whole trip in Portugal. He is a surfer and as such knows the best locations for surfing in Ericeira. I really recommend staying here.
