We knew we were going to like the place, but the truth is that we absolutely loved it.
The staff is very kind, the rooms had everything we needed, if there was anything missing they would provide it.
The views were stunning from any point of the hotel.
Breakfast was delicious.

Very nice and clean house. Well equipped kitchen, which we find important. Beautiful view from the terrace but bear in mind it may get cold as the house is quite high up. There's even a barbecue area inside with a view over the ocean. 2 bathrooms, AC, washing machine. All in all, it is a great place to stay and a friendly host.

We really enjoyed stay in this house. Beautiful view on the ocean with a terrace. The owner was very nice, allowed to move in earlier, was always in touch when there were any questions. The house and the territory are clean and well-kept. There is everything and even more for cooking. There are also additional towels for the beach. It is convenient that there are two bathrooms, this is a big plus for a large company. I liked the warm bed, as it was the season of winter on the island. Calheta is very peaceful, there is a beach and you can also see a beautiful sunset there.

What a view, you can enjoy the sunset every evening!! We loved staying at this house! The garden is perfect for sunbathing, bbq, relaxing and stargazing (we could see the milky way). The house had everything we needed and was very clean, the showers had good waterpressure and there is a washing machine.

We loved Calheta Beach for its soft sand and calm waters, thanks to the sheltered cove. While not a natural beach, it offers a relaxing atmosphere. The area around the harbor boasts several excellent restaurants, and the beach itself has a convenient beach club for drinks and snacks. Plus, the affordable beach chairs for just 2 euros were a nice bonus.

Calheta is a nice village and had a big supermarket as well as smaller shops and a white sand beach. If you enjoy hiking, you will have to travel a bit because most of the hikes are not located in this part of the island. I would personally stay somewhere a bit more centered next time. Although this town also had a certain charm because part of the village is still rather old, it also has a main road next to the beach with some restaurants, a bigger supermarket, pharmacy, ... I enjoy staying in a neighborhood which is a little more vibrant and went on a lot of hikes, so that's why I would choose a different town to stay the next time I visit Madeira.

A small town with amazing views over the Atlantic and a public sandy beach. There is a museum of contemporary art and a sugar refinery, but we did not visit them. A very short walk on the waterfront. Worth visiting the Jardim do Mar, a small village with pedestrian narrow streets. We also enjoyed the dolphin watching trip. It takes about 40 minutes by car from Calheta to Funchal.

Probably the nicest place of Madeira, especially for those who love sunbathing, sandy beaches and relaxation. Also if You would like to travel to North of Madeira, it is much closer to do it from Calheta region comparing to Funchal.

Lovely small town close to the see, all accomodation are close but take care ... if you don't like to climb a slope, it will be hard because all the streets are uphill !!!

The area is quite widespread from the marina and sand beach up into the mountains. Marina and beach area lovely and not inundated by 'cruisers'.
Some good local cafes and bars inland. Very steep in places. Be careful if walking if recently wet! Good connections by bus to Funchal, Porto Moniz (well worth a visit with its rock pool swimming), and other smaller seaside villages. A good base for a walking holiday especially if you have a car though some levada walks can be got to by bus. Has an interesting looking modern art museum sadly closed for maintenance on my visit.
It's a truly wonderful place to stay in Calheta. The sea view is magnificent, and the accommodation is impeccably maintained, with comprehensive refurbishments and all necessary amenities, particularly in the kitchen. The property manager is exceptionally kind and promptly assisted us when we encountered an issue with the bathroom water. Considering the price, it's an excellent choice for accommodation in Madeira. However, it's important to note that renting a car is highly recommended for exploring the area during your holiday.
Such a wonderful place to stay while in Madeira!
The view from the living room & balcony is gorgeous. It's well situated in Calheta, close to levada 25 fontes, which is a must go, and with lots of great restaurants nearby.
The appartment is really well kept and clean, with a spacious kitchen and a place to safely park your car.
Teresa, the host has been really kind to us, giving us many advices and helping us choose our next hikes, and being there when we needed!
Astounding view from the garden. Comfortable and private, with well-equipped kitchen. A 10 minute walk to Calheta marina with a supermarket, beach, and restaurants (the path is very steep though). Zeza is a very friendly and accomodating host.
Reaching the place from Funchal by bus is challenging, I'd only recommend it to adventurous souls (take bus 142, exit at a nameless bus stop about 2km above the house, walk 20 minutes downhill along a local asphalt road).
The hotel, restaurant and staff are wonderful!
The rooms are very clean, light and spatious. Breakfast was delicious, as is the food when you decide to eat in the restaurant. Staff is super kind and always available in case of questions, English is perfect.
The domain has a lookout over the bay and beach of Calheta, which makes up for a very nice view while eating, sunbathing or swimming on the terrace.
The welcome was so friendly. The host replied to any query I had in an instant. The apartment is extremely private and nestled nicely above the ocean. Local shop, restaurants, etc only a 5min drive. So too is Calheta beach, should you want to drag yourself away from your own infinity pool. Well equipped apartment has absolutely everything you would need and the view is simply out of this world!!!
The hotel is surrounded by wonderful landscapes and its location couldn't be more peaceful.
The room was really spacious and cozy and the kitchenette was definitely a plus for some meals during our stay.
The staff was also very kind and helpful, making Jardim Atlântico the perfect place to escape from the busy city lifestyle and relax while absorving the calm of Madeira's natural wonders.
The apartment was spacious, super clean, new kitchen with everything you need. From the balcony we could watch beautiful sunsets and the surrounding is super quiet since it is up the mountain. Location is good: 5 min by car to Calheta Beach, supermarkets and 15 min to famous Levada Hike 25 fontenes.
The hosts Luis and his wife were the kindest persons ever and made our stay unique!!
Praticality meets style. Loved the design and choice of furniture it all goes so well. The house is easily located, and its close by to a small market, fantastic restaurant and a local café and of course the beautiful relaxing Calheta Beach, as well as the famous Madeira levadas. Definitely worth staying at, the hostess is lovely and quite helpful.
We did like the location. The pool was nice but we would prefer a salt pool over chlorine. The availability to use the sand beach (public) just outside the hotel is a bonus. The hotel caters well for families and has good entertainment and activities for young and older. Plenty of seating areas throughout the hotel to relax.
All was perfect: smiling and competent personnel, very good breakfast, hotel very clean, very good fitness. Location one of the best - with excellent view at the sea. Silence, silence and silence (music bar on the top of the hotel). Very good beach bar - with good food, drinks and direct access to the sea.
Was in a beautiful area with amazing views. The hotel was clean. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Was initially disappointed there was no AC in the room but realized you didn’t need it - just kept the balcony door open and the breeze was adequate. Food was good, desserts were great.
I never thought that proximity to the beach would mean that much in a place like Madeira, where beaches are definitely not the top attractions.
We went for a short swim in the ocean and started our day fresh and ready for the levadas.
It's also close to a supermarket and to the restaurants.
Truly cannot recommend this hotel more. The location, the property, the restaurant, the staff are literally all amazing. We had the most amazing meals at their restaurant, including the best homemade bread I’ve ever had in my life. Hopefully we will be back one day, 10/10 for sure!
The house is quite big and offers everything you need. Every bedroom has ocean view. The terrace is huge and has a great view to island, ocean and the art museum. Location near Calheta Beach is nice and the people are too. Thank you!
Breakfast was fantastic so much choice and excellent service. Everyone in the hotel was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was very modern and spacious which overlooked the sea.
Very nice all inclusive hotel for relaxing vacations. The food was good and the staff were always extremely helpful and kind. It was very child and family friendly, which was great for us.
This place has a beautiful view. Great location easy access and many places to visit around the Calheta. The staff is amazing. For sure the next time to visit Calheta will be back again!
The best views of the ocean, well stocked cupboards, easy check-in/out process, didn't lack anything (blankets, beach towels, salt/pepper, a few coffee pods were all provided).
