The ruins of the ancient castle overlooking the town enhances the dreamlike feeling of this very old town. Just wandering the streets is enough, but then there is terrific hiking. Ideal for those who like heritage and outdoor adventure in the "real" Portugal outside of the large City. And then there are the people, who could not do enough to help.
Aljezur is a great location to visit if you like nature, surfing, good food, a slower pace of life. I would recommend staying in Aljezur, getting a car to drive around to different beaches and villages where you can find good restaurants. In the evening, in Aljezur, always book ahead a table.
A magical small village with tiny streets and houses, nice restaurants The river is full of life, edpecially dozens of turtles sun bathing. the beaches are close and the castle above the city gives a nice overview although it is just a ruin. nice massage at “em boas maos“ at the other side of the river in the new part of town. there is also a nice walkway east of the castle directly below with benches to rest and look over the whole village and countryside.
We hope to return. The presence of an active cultural life was important for us. We felt like we were in a town and region alive and not just a tourist setting. By the way, asking these questions in English also, would be helpful.
What I liked is that it is truly a get away from the busier touristy parts of Portugal. What I didn't like is that google maps has its location for a national park located in the middle of a farm that has sand on the surrounding roads that are easy to get stuck in.

The space was beautiful and peaceful, which made it easy to unwind. I especially appreciated having a proper desk to work from, with fast Wi-Fi that never let me down. Parking was close by and hassle-free, so getting in and out was simple. The kitchen was well equipped for putting together light meals, and everything in the apartment felt well cared for. Aljezur itself is lovely, and the nearby beach was a highlight of my trip – wide, clean, and perfect for a quiet walk at sunset.

Great location in the 'shadow' of historic moorish castle. Great view from balcony with sensational sunrise and night sky overlooking Aljezur. Easy access to local restaurants despite the property being on a hill. No hill no view!! Host was responsive and on the ball with good Joining instructions and recommendations for restaurants and amenities. Superb beaches nearby - Praia de Amoreira and Monte Clerigo. Also Praia de Odeceixe is very well worth the 25 minute drive.
We liked: • The spaciousness of the place. • The decor and style in main hotel building. • Friendly attitudes of most staff • They ordered us flowers 💐 when we asked. • Surrounding nature is beautiful and perfect if you want away from civilization. • Sauna high quality • Lovely breakfasts • Great fireplace in the bar 🍸 👏 • Really nice little boutique clothes shop. • The Nepalese house keeping team are ace. • Front of house staff are always ready to help.
This hotel is excellent to stay a few nights if you want to visit a few of the beautiful beaches of the Costa Vicentina. It is a simple yet very clean and well maintained place. Staff is polite and professional and ready to help. The room was very clean, the beds where comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We strongly recommend this place for it's great price/value ratio.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Quinta das Aguas. It was a luxurious accommodation in a tranquille setting in the country. Anabela gave us a friendly greeting with a welcoming basket. Later she also shared some fresh fruit picked on the property. Anabela was exceptionally helpful when we had some troubles with our phone service. We also thoroughly enjoyed the beaches in the area.

We had a great time at this hotel. The hotel is in a beautiful and quiet area in Aljezur. The host, Vera and her mother are very warm and friendly and made us feel very comfortable during our stay. Excellent Breakfast delivered each morning to the room. I would stay here again when I am in the area.
Unlike many hotels that offer breakfast buffets, this hotel served breakfast from a menu, making it head and shoulders above the rubbery scrambled eggs, and dried out fried eggs found at buffets. They did all of this while providing you with lots of choice and of course a chance for seconds.

It was great to stop here after a day of walking we had a few accommodations here in Portugal while walking the Fisherman's trail and this was one of the favourites. Comfortable room with well equipped kitchen. Clean and tidy, with a lovely garden

Beautiful house, really nicely built and with a wonderful terrace and pool. It's only 5 minutes away from Monte Clérigo beach by car and there are some trails nearby to reach the beach walking as well Highly recommended for your stay in Aljezur!

Beautiful location, cracking views, easy access (with car) to heaps of wonderful dune beaches, and to nearby Aljezur, very helpful staff and excellent facilities on site
The breakfast was very good. The rooms were large and very good for what we needed. They recommended a very good and not expensive restaurant nearby.
