Puerto Rico is an island, but we are conservative in our way of dressing, and walk with in our bathing suits only in the beach. Please be aware that not all the beaches are safe for swimming. San Juan faces the North Atlantic, with its strong currents. Please do not walk the streets with expensive jewelry. Park in paid parking, if possible.

We stayed in OLD SAN JUAN and it was great. If you enjoy history and the origin of the Caribbean colonialism and cultures San Juan is treasure trove of information. The two main forts established over 600 are very impressive and well kept by the National Park Service. The “old San Juan” historic area has many quaint streets and restaurants. I loved how friendly mostly everyone in san juan was . Personally it was hard for me to find food i liked but there are plenty of food options ! Unfortunately the weather wasn’t that great when i came so i couldn’t do many excursions but none the less i had a great and fun time ! I lived on the condado for 5 years from 1972-1977, while my Dad was stationed in Old San Juan. It was exactly how I remembered it, beautiful people, beautiful weather, beautiful city, beautiful beaches... but just a little more built up. I've been to Turks and Caicos, Bermuda, and the Bahamas (more than once) and they are all beautiful! But San Juan/PR in general has so much more to offer with regards to history, tours, adventure, shopping, or relaxation for ALL ages!!DonnaUnited States

The bathroom was nice with modern touches, like the touch lights on the mirror. The breakfast was good with the omlettes made to order by the friendly chef. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a great location being just walking distance from the convention center, and a short drive to the cruise port and airport and Plaza des Americas. There was a shuttle that took you Old San Juan. That was really great.

Beach access is on the property and chairs/umbrellas are provided and set up for you by staff.

The location was perfect, down the block from the beach and strip to where all the restaurants were. However, if you want real authentic Spanish food you have to travel to Old San Juan (which is about a 20 minute drive).
