We're very nicely welcomed by the Staff and we immediately got a bedroom, much before check-in time. We also received an upgrade, as we've been given a bigger room. The receptionist was a very pleasant and professional person and the other members of staff were very kind too. A nice place to stay for a couple of nights, before embarking or disembarking a Cruise ship, as it is not very far away from the port.

Leili Home is a very comfortable and well located apartment perfect for a short or long stay in Papeete. It had everything we needed, was tastefully furnished, well appointed and so close to restaurants, the supermarket and an easy walk into the main part of town. The host was incredibly friendly, helpful and responsive and for a small fee even drove us to the airport for our late night flight. Best of all the apartment was exceptional value for money. Would definitely stay here again.

Heiata was such a lovely host. Very kind and caring and really helped us a lot. She was just amazing. Close to town and easy to walk to waterfront and market. All amenities were very clean and tidy. We loved the cats that came to visit us too. The view to the mountains was fabulous. We highly recommend Heiata's Lodge and would stay there again.

The location was perfect for downtown Papeete, a beautiful little oasis with all the comforts of home, great aircon, good after a hot day touring around. I loved how we paid cash and the owner was so friendly to deal with. Nice welcoming touch with two beer's waiting for us in the fridge on arrival. Pool downstairs was awesome too.😃👍

The studio is very nice, clean, and had all the amenities that we needed. Washing machine, coffee machine, parking... Also had big windows where you can see a beautiful sunrise. The bed was comfortable! Also the location was nice for us, very close to the airport and we could drive in less than 10 minutes there.

About 90% of excursions were water related activities and if that’s not your passion it’ll take a bit of effort to find nature, culture options. What I didn’t like as a solo traveler is that Viator tours were mainly required a couple/2 person minimim booking. Thankfully booking.com excursions was a life saver. Most restaurants are closed between 2-5 pm so keep that in mind. I’m not a foodie so I didn’t explore the fine dining options. Papeete lacks a robust night life, it’s more a “get away from real life” and relax that caters to water sports types. I realized I’m a “city girl” type so after 3 days of chilling I was restless.

Papeete is a dump! We expected more from the French. Very 3rd world, unsafe water, no sidewalks, trash and graffiti abounds, bums begging, dirty drainage canals, and for this you are charged extremely high prices for everything! Bora bora wasn't much better... Moorea was nice. We took a cruise to the Marquesas and Tuamotus which were still unspoiled and gorgeous with genuine natives. The islands are stunning, but just go to Hawaii.

Papeete itself is very bland and the market is over-rated (in my opinion). I wished I had planned properly and spent few nights at Moorea, but I didn't know what to expect. Rookie mistake 🫣 Lessons learnt. Despite mixed advice from the locals, I felt safe walking at night, which is a positive outlook for the Island 🙏 As many reviewers have mentioned, Papeete is only a good stopover to the other islands 🏝 😀 The 2 highlights of my stay was the day trip to Moorea, doing the safari excursions and the cultural night at the InterContinental Hotel.

Over-all it was great.

Over-all it was great. We spent 7 days on Tahiti, plus a half-day excursion on Moorea. 5 days on Tahiti would probably be enough. Next time we will visit a couple of others islands for a few days. Good food and shopping in Papeete.

Spending a day or two there would have been enough, there was obvious poverty, with multiple homeless people. Not what I expected at all. I hired a car to visit the sites, but when I was driving around, everything looked closed, or uninviting. As a solo tourist, this wasn't the best place to visit. If I had known better, I would have book a night & visited the different islands.

Reva was excellent as she picked us up from the airport at 1.30am, which was very kind of her. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed for our short stay in Papeete. The location was perfect as it was close to the city centre, to the ferry dock and by the waterfront.

The hotel location is pretty convenient. You can go visit lots of attractions nearby eg. Le Marché de Papeete. There are shops, restaurants, pharmacies, laundrette etc only walking distance. Ferry dock is right opposite the hotel if you’re going to Moorea by ferry.
