First of all i would like to highlight the GREAT host, he was extremely cultural, polite and helpfull with everything. He could the the role model for the other hosts. Thanks a lot for everything!!! What is more, the apartament was clean, equipped with everything we could need, quiet, the location was perfect - close to the center, local market and just beside a nice park, swimming pool and athletics track and Champion supermarket.

The apartment is on a good location. 10 min walk from Carrefour and about the same to the downtown. Apartment has all you need for a few days stay (and more if you need). Beautiful sea view because the building is a little bit on a hill. Everything was very smooth and easy from the beginning till the end of our stay. Tunui was very professional. Lovely apartment. Communal swimming pool (very decent size)was an additional value to all our expectations. We are very happy with our choice and whenever possible we will come back to Tunui's apartment again.

About 90% of excursions were water related activities and if that’s not your passion it’ll take a bit of effort to find nature, culture options. What I didn’t like as a solo traveler is that Viator tours were mainly required a couple/2 person minimim booking. Thankfully booking.com excursions was a life saver. Most restaurants are closed between 2-5 pm so keep that in mind. I’m not a foodie so I didn’t explore the fine dining options. Papeete lacks a robust night life, it’s more a “get away from real life” and relax that caters to water sports types. I realized I’m a “city girl” type so after 3 days of chilling I was restless.

Papeete is a dump! We expected more from the French. Very 3rd world, unsafe water, no sidewalks, trash and graffiti abounds, bums begging, dirty drainage canals, and for this you are charged extremely high prices for everything! Bora bora wasn't much better... Moorea was nice. We took a cruise to the Marquesas and Tuamotus which were still unspoiled and gorgeous with genuine natives. The islands are stunning, but just go to Hawaii.

Papeete itself is very bland and the market is over-rated (in my opinion). I wished I had planned properly and spent few nights at Moorea, but I didn't know what to expect. Rookie mistake 🫣 Lessons learnt. Despite mixed advice from the locals, I felt safe walking at night, which is a positive outlook for the Island 🙏 As many reviewers have mentioned, Papeete is only a good stopover to the other islands 🏝 😀 The 2 highlights of my stay was the day trip to Moorea, doing the safari excursions and the cultural night at the InterContinental Hotel.

Over-all it was great.

Over-all it was great. We spent 7 days on Tahiti, plus a half-day excursion on Moorea. 5 days on Tahiti would probably be enough. Next time we will visit a couple of others islands for a few days. Good food and shopping in Papeete.

Spending a day or two there would have been enough, there was obvious poverty, with multiple homeless people. Not what I expected at all. I hired a car to visit the sites, but when I was driving around, everything looked closed, or uninviting. As a solo tourist, this wasn't the best place to visit. If I had known better, I would have book a night & visited the different islands.

The people are what make it so good.

The people are what make it so good. Very polite people who appear to be honest and kind. The shopping mall across the road from the Hilton was a wonderful place with a food hall and a good supermarket. We enjoyed a day trip to Moorea and a taxi trip around that island. Also the 5-hour Tahiti group trip and the boat trip. I did not do any snorkelling as I do not swim and I thought perhaps an activity in knee-high water could have been included in the boat trip. The Museum of the Islands was a good activity.

The hotel is conveniently located within a short drive to the PPT airport. Complimentary shuttle service is provided by the hotel to/from the airport, which is a great aspect of staying here. The air conditioning in the room worked well. There are several restaurants within 10-15 minute walk, though the hotel is located on the side of the hill, so you may need to take a taxi if you are physically limited. The room was spacious and the bed/pillows were very comfortable.

Great location - not far to walk to restaurants, supermarkets, and other attractions in Papeete. Hosts were A++ and kindly met us at the ferry terminal and kindly dropped us off at the airport early morning - really kind! Good communication with the hosts! Accommodation was well equipped, very clean, and a comfortable place to be.

Reva was excellent as she picked us up from the airport at 1.30am, which was very kind of her. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed for our short stay in Papeete. The location was perfect as it was close to the city centre, to the ferry dock and by the waterfront.
