We got a room with a beautiful view of Escalera Mountain Range. The sunsets were spectacular. The room, and the lodge in general is full of art pieces that give a unique touch to the property. Ah! they have an amazing library where you can spend time reading about history, art, ethnobotany, etc. All with an impressive view of the landscape. Breakfast was excellent with home-made bread and jam(!).

The Yanashpa Resort is a surprising place in the middle of the jungle, exceeding everything we expected. The welcome, the comfortable cabins and the delicious dishes in the restaurant made our stay unforgettable. It was the perfect retreat to reconnect with nature. This place really feels like home. Simple but comfortable, Jorge and Selmita really make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Free and easy airport pickup is such a nice way to start the experience and from there they are there to help with anything you need throughout the stay. Breakfast again is simple but exactly what you need, and lovely to take it in the lush internal courtyard. There might be more fancy places in Tarapoto but this is the one that always feels safe and comfortable for me. A great please before and after medicine retreats too, they really get the vibe.

The room and bathroom were really clean and there is hot water. There is filter water at reception. There is an al fresco area with hammocks and comfy chairs to relax and enjoy the view. The owner is so helpful and I got help with organising onward travel with knowledge that I couldn’t find online. The location is perfect just a short stroll down the road to the main plaza.
