The owners & their son were exceptionally helpful in recommending & providing directions for hiking, restaurants, and activities to do while in Santa Fe. I arrived thinking I had reserved a typical hotel room. Imagine my delight when I discovered that it was a stand alone, tiny house. It was refreshing to use the pool after a long hike (I showered before using the pool). The pool was always clean. The location of the hotel was within walking distance of the town center but far enough away to provide a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

A relaxing paradise to stay. First of all, Santa Fé is gorgeus, a mountain town very beautiful. As a town, Santa Fé, was the highlight of my trip and with such beautiful trekkings all round full of waterfalls. La Qhia is a very charming place with a  beautiful and relaxing garden, a lot of common areas with terraces where you could enjoy the place seating or laying in one hamaca and even a open air area to practice yoga or meditate. A bit of paradise. The bungalow was spotless, very clean and with a good area, and your own seating place outside. Has an open air restaurant with good food (good price) and good service and if you want they have also cocktails. :)  Everyone was nice, the employee (sorry don't know the name) of the restaurant was very nice and kind, always smiling. All the team was there to be helpful, I fell and all were very helpful to give me what I need. Reynaldo, the manager of Qhia is there for you and explain everything what you could need. With all the patient and being a sweet person. He did a fantastic job creating a page on Qhia site with all information that you need for trekking and other useful information of Santa Fé (trekkings, tours, restaurants, public transports, etc). Everything is there. Even each trekking is described in every little detail. I always thought that if I had a place to receive people I would do that. But is the first time that I saw a hotel/eco resort, doing this. What a good, great job receiving people. Of course, I cant forget, Ragnar, the dog (a gorgeus dog with a sweet soul and gorgeus) and the sleepy cat that loves cuddling. Last, did the night tour to see night wildlife and recommend the experience. Is always magical feeling nature at night. Really recommend to stay here. Would love to come back

Santa Fe is a low key ordinary village.

Santa Fe is a low key ordinary village. We liked it for its lack of frills. There's a Danish run pizza place and a couple of coffee shops (we didn't go to either just saw them). The rest is normal Panamanian stuff, 2 mini Supermarkets and a few cafes with typical Panamanian food. There are rivers and waterfalls to bathe in but all except one would need a car (or bike) to get to. I'd say it was a one horse town except we saw 3 wandering about! The scenery is fantastic, so many different trees and so many hills. The road to the coast is finished and is lovely and smooth. There's a restaurant at the end of the road for lunch. The road from Santiago gets better as you get along it but takes 1.5 to 2 hours for the 35 miles to Santa Fe

Santa Fé is a beautiful mountain town in western Panama.

Santa Fé is a beautiful mountain town in western Panama. It's located in a valley bordered by mountains which form part of an impressive natural reserve north of the town. The town itself appears to be easy-going and quiet —save for the odd bar— but the focus of the place is elsewhere: the very diverse ecosystems that exist all around it, from river habitats to cloud forests. You can either scale bare mountains and take in breathtaking views or go deep into the jungle and see unique wildlife, and the trails go as far as you may like. The area is also known for its organic farming and the town has played an important part in the history of Panama.

When you go to Santa Fe, prepare for the hikes, the horse...

When you go to Santa Fe, prepare for the hikes, the horse riding and make sure that in Santiago you fill up the gas tank to the max (Llenó porfa). The restaurants are simple, but there is a Thai gem. Try to get lucky by staying in that hotel and enjoy the cooking that after 7,5 years in Panamá I have not found. Simple and honest Thai food is of course a joy for every 48 years old backpacker (now by 2x4 car by the way).

Set in beautifully well kept gardens. These lovely cabanas are a great option for staying in Santa Fe. With good sized rooms. Great pool and sun area. Good communal kitchen space. Ricardo and his staff made us feel very welcome and helped make our stay a real experience, organising tours, giving recommendations for eateries etc.

It does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s clean, comfortable and central to Santa Fe. Ricardo, the host is as welcoming as always ( this is the second time we’ve stayed here), including making the coffeee in the morning - delicious.

The breakfast was tasty-two mornings and different items each morning, the view is beautiful. It is very quiet and far from action. Santa Fe is a very small quiet town. For us, 2 nights was enough time.
