The church, the museum, the ballpark, the mall, are all...

The church, the museum, the ballpark, the mall, are all good places to see. If you want to experience life as a local, this is your place. We speak very little Spanish, but had no trouble communicating what we needed or wanted. You can eat at trendy looking places and pay trendy prices, or eat where the locals eat and pay 5 bucks for two people and eat local fare. The Museum De Herrera is quaint, but informative and organized. The water tower is another claim to fame for Chitre. The ballpark was closed for renovations while we were there. We walked everywhere during the day and felt completely safe all the time. The bus system is excellent and a convenient and inexpensive means to travel the entire country, which we did. At every station, someone would help us find the correct bus and we almost always could find someone who spoke enough English to help.

The hotel is really very nice, situated in a beautiful environment, silence is granted because is situated far away from any source of noise. The staff was very kind to us acting in and kind a professional way. The room was wide and well illuminated, facing the huge pond surrounding the hotel. Breakfast was served in a wide environment, in the open air or in an air conditioned room at guests' choice. The whole structure is well worthing the money we paid and we had a pleasant staying.

The location for being downtown is excellent. Chitre does not have a lot of restaurants downtown but food was available. A Bakery that served fried things for breakfast and good cheap coffee is two doors down. Having secured parking was a plus. The common area is spacious and has nice fans. Felt very secure as doors are locked at all times and guests are given a key.

Friendly owner, parking behind the hotel. Very central, you could reach everything on foot. We were only here for one night as we were just passing through on a trip from east to west Panama.
