Even if the fact that the hotel is located by an old WWIi British airport runway sounds astonishing, visually it's not as impressive as expexted...still gives the hotel a nice "extra". 😄 Rooms are big and clean, breakfast was good even if I missed at least some vegetables. The best on this hotel is the stuff here. Haven't experienced that often such an outgoing support in anything we needed. Within a rating range from 1 to 10, I would give them 11 points. Few minutes after check in I received via Whatsup suggestions where to have dinner or where to book a turtles tour. For dinner ( it got dark already)we decided to go for the received suggestion, Google maps showed it was about a 20min walk, so we thought why taking the car. After about 5min, a car appeared behind us. It was our receptionist who cought us up and drove us to the restaurant on the end. 😁

The host Ektheir was very welcoming, friendly and kind. He also graciously provided many information about the location and the activities someone could do in the area. He was very attentive, personal and nice. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and spacious. The whole vibe of the place was as if I was visiting my relatives at their beach house. It felt really calm and fun. Breakfast and dinner were also very delicious and we ate all together at a big table which felt even more like a family vacation. I am for sure coming back to this place!

Host was very friendly. Starting with a very warm welcome, was very helpful around everything. Dinner was very delicious and the breakfast extra tasty. Surprisingly good. Close to the sea where we say lightning planktons in the night.

So we were unsure whether to book this or not because of the reviews here, but took the risk! The property was absolute AMAZING, the location was perfect, but the staff were unbelievable! I mentioned it’s one of our friends birthdays and he went out to FILL the villa with balloons, decorations, birthday cake, candy, and lots of other fun things for when we arrived! We all arrived at awkward timings but he made sure to meet us super early to check in. He arranged a chef to cook us a bbq, constantly made sure we were well looked after, the villa is amazing, clean, comfortable, awesome cinema room, the pool and jacuzzi were amazing, and there’s a steam room! Huge villa but still very homely feeling, 100% recommend and we will definitely be back soon! Again thank you so much to the staff for making sure we were well looked after and going above and beyond at every stage! You were awesome !

I particularly enjoyed sitting on the terrace, listening to the ocean. Our small house had a beautiful sea view. The resort beach was sandy, perfect for a great swim. The sea water was super clear, and we couldn't get enough of it. We also enjoyed a swim in the quiet pool next to the beach. Pool had a guard. The food for dinner and breakfast was pretty good, depending on what you pick. The freshly grilled chicken was fantastic. The spiced rice and french fries were tasty too. Breakfast had a variety of delicious fruits. There was live music during dinner, creating a really chill atmosphere. I wished we could have stayed an extra day. The staff were really friendly. It's a great place for families, with playgrounds for kids. Or pick a book, sit in the terrace and listen to the waves :)

Great location close to the beach and a very relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean, and the breakfast was wonderful. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommended!

Hospitality, food, the host went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and make sure we made it to the Turtle Reserve and our next destination. The shade he created on the beach was priceless! Fantastic break from sight-seeing, just enjoying the wonderful sea and sandy beach!

Al Hadd is a peaceful coastal area with beautiful empty...

Al Hadd is a peaceful coastal area with beautiful empty beaches and a very relaxed atmosphere. It’s a great place to see wildlife — especially turtles — and enjoy the simple charm of local fishing life. The area is calm, safe, and perfect for families who want to disconnect from the city and explore Oman’s coastline. Even one night here gives a nice break and a memorable experience.

The Pink beach is really nice to visit and safe to swim.

The Pink beach is really nice to visit and safe to swim. It's also next to a small hotel, where you can have a lovely lunch overlooking the beach and a beer! Ras AL Jinz beach is stunning, but sadly not safe to swim. It costs 2 real per person and we virtually had the beach to ourselves with shade provided by the rocks. This is where you can join a turtle watching group. The group is large and apparently some of the tourists do not behave as they should. We decided not to do this tour.

I’m uncomfortable with the turtle viewing situation.

I’m uncomfortable with the turtle viewing situation. After booking I read reviews of Ras Al Jinz and we decided to avoid. Then we were told to walk onto the beach near our guest house, with the warning that we could be turned away as beach access at night is forbidden. We saw several people in cars near the beach, headlights on, clearly looking for turtles. We turned away. The following morning, after sunrise, we went up to the beach. A turtle had clearly been there, I just hope the uninvited visitors didn’t interrupt her. I fear Ras Al Hadd isn’t entirely coping with the increased number of tourists and I don’t think it’s really worth a visit, tourists also need to be made much more aware of the consequences of their actions.

Small fishing town, nice beach and sea was lovely, decent waves for surfing. Good location for turtles and the scientific center. Basic coffee/tea shops and supermarket. Best get provisions from Sur.
