We stayed whilst having our wedding at hobbiton. The stay was absolutely magical and really made us feel the part for the wedding to come. It was so cozy and comfortable whilst having the conveniences of a modern shire life. The location was excellent, Nicely tucked away and private. We really enjoyed the surrounding farm land and beautiful wildlife that visited. The host was very friendly and accommodating. We loved hearing how he came to make the hobbit hole. We were also very grateful for the wonderful little momento he left after our wedding. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay and start to our marriage

This was truly and sincerely the best stay we had in all of New Zealand. We arrived late in the evening and Michele greeted us and ensured we had everything - and we really had everything. Breakfast was glorious to enjoy in the garden and a hot bath under the stars is unforgettable. Michele and Neil are both lovely people!! I ended up so inspired by the cottage I threw together a quick watercolor painting of it!

It was a great place to relax away from people and have time...

It was a great place to relax away from people and have time to spend walking amongst the trees, admiring the different flowers and the artworks that are installed throughout the grounds. It was lovely to enjoy and appreciate all of the hard work that has been completed on this property. Turning an old quarry into a haven for wildlife, nature and art and give children and adults alike and great experience.

We loved the friendliness of the hosts and the beautiful spaces and views. Our breakfast was divine and the hosts even treated us with cheese and crackers during the evening. We felt comfortable and warm and shall definitely make another booking.

Tauwhare translates to ‘Place of Rest’ which is a perfect...

Tauwhare translates to ‘Place of Rest’ which is a perfect description of my stay here. The hosts were friendly and hospitable. They have made their space so cosy and homely which made me feel at ease straight away. It was tidy and clean, and I really appreciated the thoughtful touches (water and chocolate waiting in my room for me). I wish I could have stayed longer to make good use of the backyard space and to explore the neighbourhood. I would come back in a heartbeat!
