This resort is fantastic! The location is perfect, right by the sea, and the restaurant offers stunning ocean views. The food was delicious, especially the fried squid. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I left my makeup bag behind, and they called me the same day to confirm and I’ve already received it in perfect condition. Thank you for the amazing service—I’ll definitely return!

I would rate it a 20 out of 10 if possible. The minute you walk in, you feel like a million! Gorgeous view, beautiful interior with everything you need and beyond relaxing. The dolphins swam by twice. The hosts Mark and Jane honoured our request and we were so happy.

The property consists of about 10 apartments above the rating. Some were two-story. We lived in a detached house with a large wooden veranda. There was a table and chairs on the veranda. The apartment consisted of a living room, a well-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. There was also a washing machine and a dryer. The view from the veranda and the bedroom on the rating was amazing. From the veranda to the beach we had exactly 26 steps, and then 36 steps to the sea. Could it be better? Our house was separated from the beach by only a driveway and a few meters of grass. The sunrise seen from the veranda with a cup of coffee in your hand... priceless.

Quiet and relaxing as Taipa is on the outskirts but close to everything including the pretty Cable Bay, Coopers beach, Mangonui and Karikari peninsula. We drove here after a daytrip from Ahipara to Cape Reinga, got groceries in Kaitaia and made ourselves the yummiest BBQ with scotch fillet, fresh fish, mussels, prawns and salad. What we couldn't eat we packed for lunch the next day in our chiller bag. Lots of small eateries around and the Mangonui hotel has snapper burgers with runny eggs if not wanting to cook.

Absolutely stunning location. There was a wedding party when we stayed but the place was so we'll insulated we didn't hear the music, slept well. The room was really well designed, opened out to the pool with patio, private but open. We've stayed in 6 hotels in the last 2 weeks, this was the best.

We really enjoy the attentions of the lovely staff. Thank you! We are regular visitors who love this spacious and beautifully located hotel. We love the pool and tennis court and close proximity to the beach. We love the Far North, especially Mangonui, which is only 10 minutes away.
