In a town not widely known for its accommodation options, this property genuinely pushes boundaries, creating local employment, contributing to the town’s revival, and setting a new benchmark for hospitality in the area. The building itself is a stunning 115-year-old masterpiece, designed in classic New Zealand neo-classical style. The hosts have gone to remarkable lengths to preserve its historic charm while seamlessly incorporating modern comforts. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the beds and showers to the taps, teapots, and furniture, all reflecting an authentic early-1900s look and feel without sacrificing convenience or comfort. It is a rare and beautifully executed blend of history and modern living. The manager was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and supportive, which made the experience even more memorable. This stay far exceeded our expectations, and we truly enjoyed every moment. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates heritage, character, and the chance to experience what a classic stay in the early 1900s might have felt like, elevated to modern standards.

You simply cannot beat the view - it’s one of the most spectacular views for accommodation I’ve ever seen. The accommodation is so lovely and modern - has everything you could possibly need while you kick back. Kiri was such a thoughtful host, she truly made our stay so memorable.
