A pretty, traditional lodge in a lovely rural setting with beautiful beaches nearby. The lodge has a pretty garden and even a pool that we only noticed the last morning. Host Dave was very nice and helpful, prompt in all communication and we felt welcome. Breakfast was very good and my gluten-free diet was noted, which I really appreciate as that isn’t nearly always clear. Our room was very spacious, had french doors and a view to a medow. Closeby Whangarei is a nice little town for a stroll, the interesting Hundertwasser gallery and even a visit to a waterfall.

I needed an overnight stay before heading to Kaitaia since Air NZ doesn't fly to Kaitaia. Accomodation had all my requirements. Lovely staff, especially on meeting my nephew whom I didn't know was up in Whangarei from Auckland.

I booked this for my 80 yr old uncle who traveled from Rotorua for a funeral. He had car and phone trouble. He said the staff were so helpful with both these things and couldn't do enough to help.

The parking right outside the unit was good. The whole room was clean. You could hear the neighbours when they were outside their room but once inside you could barely hear them
