Absolutely loved the stay here at Abel Tasmen. The Service Staff were lovely especially the charming receptionist who helped us figure what locals do at Abel and also managed to get us a cheese board & wine after the kitchen was shut.. The Rooms were nice as well.

...uuummm...EVERYTHING!!! The most amazing host Steve, friendly, knowledgeable and generous. The cabins were perfect with everything you'd need to accommodate your stay. I discovered the Yurt while exploring the grounds as per recommendation and fell in love and I immediately ran back to get my husband from 1 of our 2 booked cabins for the night and asked Steve if we could change accommodations...without hesitation he happily obliged and let us keep our original cabin booking and added the Yurt to our package. We originally booked in for 3 adults and last minute turned up with an extra 2 bodies and 5 big dogs...again without hesitation he welcomed us with open arms and a way chill vibe The activities on offer with yoga and massage and even a concert in the hall on Saturday night provided by the locals (for a small entry fee). the pizza oven vibe the running creek through the property and the grounds itself are stunning with a native bush vibe and a great view of the ocean. Absolutely gorgeous beaches within walking distance and also a short scenic coast road drive picture perfect. We will 100% be back soon Ps. Steve I'm coming back for more chai tea I'm hooked I'll need the basic recipe for sure 😘😘

Such a peaceful and natural glamping experience with a stream flowing continuously behind the bed. The outdoor shower with the stone floor was a beautiful experience amongst the trees. Would easily go back.

Absolutely gorgeous place with a lovely garden and spa. Super quiet and tranquil and the owners are lovely. After 8pm the spa is for guests only so super quiet, I had the whole spa to myself most of the evening! The queen room had a rustic feel but also super luxurious and comfortable. Everything very clean. The cats are delightful too, super affectionate and love attention. This is probably my favourite place I’ve ever stayed, I came from being on the road in a small van for a while and a night here was just a luxurious break from van life. Highly recommend

Perfect host, very helpful! Room very comfortable, bathroom separated. Bed and breakfast as you know it, but rooms with bathroom ensuite available as well. Breakfast according to your wishes full english or continental. Just ask. Also very good ideas for exploring the surroundings. Full use of the kitchen possible, very handy if you do not plan going out.

We love this beach - especially in winter!

We love this beach - especially in winter! It is also very close to some special places - Tata and Ligar Beaches, the Wainui Falls, the Grove Reserve and more - always something new to discover. Molly Bs is to be reccommended…and the cafes of Takaka are not far away.

Great beach, and more good beaches nearby. Quiet summer holiday location that was still buzzing (in late Jan) with holiday-makers and had the comforts you might relish (local choices for bar & cafe & shop for groceries). A great place for a summer vacation.

We loved having a cabin so close to the ocean. We had the luxury of seeing the sunset from our cabin which was stunning. Beach views were fantastic. Very comfortable and clean cabin. Staff have thought of everything to ensure a comfortable stay. Would highly recommend Pohara Top 10.

The town is simple and clean, I came for a spiritual class...

The town is simple and clean, I came for a spiritual class and it's on a retreat centre up the mountain .. might be it's now getting into winter , there's not a lot of tourists around and make it easy to drive around and visit places.. the weather was good ( not windy so it's good to hv a walk on the beach in the late afternoon..

A great place to stay.

A great place to stay. Lovely safe beach for walking and swimming. Wainui falls and labyrinth rocks not far away. About 20 minutes to Tākaka for a browse through really interesting shops and 40 minutes to Collingwood for the farewell spit tour. Nothing disappointed.

YOU COULD TRIP YOURSELF OVER ONTO THE BEACH ITS THAT CLOSE, THERE IS NOTHING I DISLIKE LIKE ABOUT POHARA. MOLLY B'S WAS THE BOMB FOR FOOD AND DRINKS, SUPER FREINDLY STAFF..THANKS FOR TAKING CARE OF US JO & IT WAS VERY NICE METTING YOU!

It was so close to the Grove, short walk to Pohara, short drive to Takaka and near to Ligar Bay, Tata Beach and Wanui Falls :-) Cottage was very cosy for 5 of us, lots of chopped firewood and kindling to keep us warm in the evening - playing board games in front of the log burner. Delicious juicy oranges from the tree next door to go with breakfast - thanks Gay for a fab stay!

A beautiful spot and a beautiful place. Clean, tidy and modern, it had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend away. Loved that it was tucked away from the road so private but still close enough to shops and beaches etc.
