The building itself is a stunning 115-year-old masterpiece, designed in classic New Zealand neo-classical style. The hosts have gone to remarkable lengths to preserve its historic charm while seamlessly incorporating modern comforts. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the beds and showers to the taps, teapots, and furniture, all reflecting an authentic early-1900s look and feel without sacrificing convenience or comfort. It is a rare and beautifully executed blend of history and modern living. The manager was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and supportive, which made the experience even more memorable. This stay far exceeded our expectations, and we truly enjoyed every moment. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates heritage, character, and the chance to experience what a classic stay in the early 1900s might have felt like, elevated to modern standards.

It's a really beautiful, cosy and quiet place. The owners are lovely, friendly and helpful persons. We enjoyed comfortable beds, evenings by the fireplace and delicious breakfasts. Even played a bit tennis...first time in 20 years :-) Would love to come back again!

Beautiful location, friendly and kind manager. Our favourite motel during our NZ travels. Spacious family unit with 2 king beds and two single beds gave us plenty of space. Kids used the swimming pool in "winter" and were very happy.
