Our room was a lovely quiet & comfortable 'little cottage' overlooking a lovely lawn and bay, The continental breakfast was ideal for us. Had a fantastic stone grilled rump steak which I cooked myself at the table in the restaurant. Wish we could have stayed longer

there primarily for work but scored a bonus free day when planes were cancelled and i finally had a chance to see a little more. Nelson is a very pretty and varied city with good shops, lots of beautiful art, parks and gardens. the wider area has miles of coast and water to explore, as well as rugged wild walks nearby.

was a work trip so not really relevant but can very highly recommend Tahuna Thai for meal - just round the corner(walking distance) from motel Easy beach access and also access to Nelson city as well as other areas. Also great coffee from the coffee caravan by the beach

Homeless wandering the streets breaking in to cars and threatening tourists. Rude shop staff arrogant locals not wanting tourists Disgusting overpriced food and a booking. Com review system that deleted anything negative.

Nelson is my favorite place to go to.

Nelson is my favorite place to go to. I traveled up from Christchurch to collect a new car and was able to spend the day and night wandering around the city. My go to place is the Cathedral, steeped in history and with stunning really old trees. Lit two candles for my loved ones, gave a donation for the beautiful buildings' upkeep and soak up the spiritual atmosphere. Able to sit on the grass under a Black gum which was huge, relax and enjoy the smell of the pines. Fabulous food trucks and cafes. Easy to walk around, just a fabulous place. I would highly recommend it.

Nelson is a lovely city with great weather (usually).

Nelson is a lovely city with great weather (usually). Seems well set up and well kept for visitors and the community in general. Rubbish bins, seating in the CBD. Ebus is a great way to get around (especially with a Bee card). Cheap and every 30mins a bus goes somewhere! City gardens are really pretty and nice for a peaceful stroll though.

Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food options. The Markets in the weekends are not for those looking for a bargain but do support local and NZ made and although some were costly, there was a lot of selection of goodies. Stoke the Bach Restaurant was staffed with lovely young girls, and the food was excellent and value for money The Arden Monaco where we stayed has limited room facilities and is not staffed outside of working hours, but the beds are comfortable and with very dark woodwork old paintings and very heavy doors, the facility was well equipped with heat pumps and hot water.

We spent one night in Nelson, Tides Hotel located centrally in city, downtown shops and restaurants 5-10 minutes walk. Hotel has a nice restaurant and bar overlooking adjacent Maitai River. Immediate access to Maitai River Walkway, which leads to the Marina in one direction and lovely countryside in the other, excellent for walking or jogging. Tahunanui Beach a little far to walk.

Because I'm a bit disabled the shower set up was perfect for me. My son and I went to Nelson to visit unwell family members. Your hotel is perfectly placed, quiet, clean. We will stay in the Beachcomber next time we go to Nelson. We love Nelson. Would love to live there if we could. Thank you and your nice staff. Diane Waugh & Stefan Pahl.

Stayed 3 days here in a classic studio upstairs. Great location, great staff, clean, tidy. Would definitely recommend to everyone. Room was ready for check in at 10.30am. No other motels do this, that we stayed in, in Nelson
