Everything was lovely and the views from the unit were amazing. Our bedroom was great with a comfortable king bed and great shower/bathroom. Everything was very clean and the hosts were very friendly without being intrusive. We were the only guest so had the common area to ourselves as well and enjoyed the excellent included continental breakfast. Highly recommend The Salty Bushman for your stay in The Catlins.

Amazing location and view. Modern with every amenity. Appreciated the light breakfast/fruit and coffee as only one restaurant in town and not opening until noon. So relaxing with the ocean views,smells and sounds. Lovely beach walk.

Jenny kindly offered us some home reared bacon and home grown heritage tomatoes - a real bonus - we cooked them up in our little kitchenette and made the most delicious bacon and tomato butties - which we ate in the garden overlooking the sea - just fabulous

The apartment is beautiful, big and spacious with large windows and a marvellous view. We liked all, especially the comfortable bed, the bathtube with whirlpool and the ocean view. The last morning there was an awesome and spectacular sunrise with rainbow, the best ever we had. From Kaka Point we could visit easily many places of the Katlins, so we loved it. The responsable woman was very helpful and friendly, f.e. with the key and all our questions.

We were just looking for a nice accommodation after a couple weeks of hiking and little did we know that we would receive a real treat. The property is maintained with so much love for detail, we felt so much at peace winding down with that birdsong all around. Honestly, it was nearly like a Bridgerton movie set. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic (the home made fruit loaf is divine) and the sauna was just what we needed for our sore muscles. Highly recommend a stay at the Fern and Thistle, we had a wonderful time. The bathroom is not ensuite which was communicated to us beforehand and was not an issue at all.
