Great promenade for walking or running.

Great promenade for walking or running. Although beach was full of wooden debris, great setup. Wonderful sunset. Town pretty much closes down on Mondays but we managed to find an open restaurant. The Glow Worm Dell, really cool and the Hokitika Gorge a must see!

Nice little seaside town .

Nice little seaside town . We stayed at two different locations a week apart and with different weather/ rain and sun. Wish we’d had a few days to see the glow worms in their natural state and do a few walks but we were really close to the airport and close to the route towards going through to Arthur’s Pass. We cooked our own food at our accomodation so we bought food from local supermarkets before heading to more remote areas.

Friendly people .. nice food .. fabulous merino knits at reasonable prices compared to more Touristy places .. good little find glad we stayed a few days .. Loved the 1930 movie authentic theatre and went to a fun live music show 🥂👍

I did the tree top walk and zip line.

I did the tree top walk and zip line. Excellent experience made even better by excellent staff. Also did the Hokitika gorge. Well worth the extra distance you have to drive. Would definitely recommend the Kaniere WaterRace Walkway. Hokitika is really easy to get around. Nice and clean, Thankyou🌻

Best part is the beach, driftwood is amazing.

Best part is the beach, driftwood is amazing. It's often wet so take suitable clothing and maybe gumboots. Stumpers is a great place to eat . Shops don't seem to be open on a Sunday which was disappointing.

We stayed in Chief Henshaw 3 bdrm apartment.

We stayed in Chief Henshaw 3 bdrm apartment. There was 5 of us so little compact! Although it was for 1 night only so suited our needs. The place is beautifully appointed and ideally located within walking distance of good eating and the beach.

We were in Hokitika on business. Excellent location. Right in the heart of town and a 1min walk to the beach. Restaurant and bar on site and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. After dinner we walked over to the beach and looked around town. The next morning we had breakfast, checked out of the hotel and looked around the township did a little christmas shopping before heading home. Perfect little destination and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend 👌

We were warmly welcomed on arrival frendly customer service. Kiwi holiday park has everything you need , very new and clean and tidy and has a fun park for the kids to play right in the middle of the complex. The layout is fantastic. Very family friendly. Highly recommend if your staying in Hokitika This is the best place! Loved our stay here.

Best motel I’ve stayed at during my journey through New Zealand so far. The room was modern and clean and most of all unlike the other motels I’ve been to so far the kitchen cabinets didn’t smell weird. Instead it smelled very fresh there. Would definitely come again.
