Although in general we have high requirements as guests, the drifter was the best hostel ever for us until now. The location is very convenient, walking distance to the centre. There are many places for socializing and good vibes. Even the kitchen, which is really busy sometimes, helps bringing people closer. Painting and free yoga courses are "plus".

Extremely clean and has complete working amenities. For someone that is fussy with toilets, I have no issues at all, it was immaculate. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Also, it’s just walking distance from the town centre and shops.

Boutique Hotel, excellent bar and restaurant, good complimentary breakfast - not like the normal plastic-wrapped offering common in motels. Governors Bay is a beautiful location with plenty of walking tracks nearby. Great Kiwi hospitality which is fast disappearing elsewhere in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The hotel looked over the bay and was excellent in being close to Lyttelton and the Banks Peninsula. The room was very quiet, sunny and welcoming having been refurbished to contemporary standards. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was almost new, fresh and clean. Parking was easy. I would definitely book again in the future.

Breakfast was continental and help yourself and that was fine for me. I loved the front garden seating area under umbrellas. Loved the view from the front balcony and the sounds of fantails flitting around. Just loved waking up in Governors Bay really.

The views from the property were an absolute highlight looking over a picturesque waterscape. The hotel had lots of character and comfort. The meals were delicious andstaff member Molly was very helpful and friendly.

We loved our stay at Otoromiro Hotel! The staff were so lovely, the food was excellent, and the room and facilities were lovely and clean also. We will definitely be back one day for a longer stay :)
