We were welcomed by the owners on arrival who were so friendly and very welcoming. We had a beautiful en-suite room with doors out to a little patio area overlooking the beautiful garden and gorgeous views beyond - such a great setting! Tea and coffee was available in the shared kitchen/sitting room and there was fresh milk in the fridge. Breakfast was in the pavilion, self service cereals and toast and fab coffee! A very comfy bed too it was a great night’s stay!

I was in Gore for the Tussock Country Festival and the Gold Guitars. I had a great time, the various events were very enjoyable and the people very friendly. Plenty of choice for dining out and shopping, plus the Eastern Southland Gallery is a "must-see".

Love Gore for its beautiful city centre.

Love Gore for its beautiful city centre. City council has done a great job. The city is tidy and you can see flowers on the main streets. Fantastic! Lots of churches which are amazing. May the Lord bless the whole city and it's residents!

Gore is a nice country town surrounded by lovely green...

Gore is a nice country town surrounded by lovely green countryside and is well served with amenities. There is a great art gallery which has an impressive collection of Ralph Hotere works amongst others and a museum that tells the story of illicit whiskey distilling in the area. Several places to eat and get a good coffee like The Stables Cafe. If you are a fisher there is the Mataura river which runs through the town. Go North and its a nice drive to Queenstown and south gets you to Invercargill.

lovely countryside and the cafe and restaurant definitely worth visiting again. Shops were varied and I spent far too much money, the hospice shop was a great place to spend half an hour or more browsing. If you were self catering the main shops were there for you. Pleasant place to walk around as well.

Gore is the heart of the Southern area and in true Southern style their hospitality is second to none. People are friendly and the area has a quiet feel but is still modern and facilities are great. The Town and Country club is a great social place with very friendly bar staff and locals..

Hokonui B&B is in a lovely rural setting. The view from the breakfast area is fantastic. The B&B is located just a short drive out of Gore. We had the upstairs room and it was spacious, private, comfortable, quiet, and had a gorgeous view. The hosts were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. There was plenty of space to park. The price was very reasonable considering the room and the breakfast. We would gladly stay here again.

Very friendly lady here. This was about 10 mins walk to centre which was perfect. Includes parking and the lady gave me a small bottle of milk for coffee. Nice touch. Very nicely kept place which felt very safe and secure. Would definitely stay here again if I’m ever in Gore. Thank you for your kind hospitality.

I needed to extend my stay at the last minute, however the hotel was fully booked. The staff went above and beyond to extend my stay and were genuinely excited when they were able to fulfil my request. Just the most genuine, loveliest hotel staff I have encountered. I intend to return in May.
